Eh. I only really agree on Batman's presence. As for the larger roster, I feel like the League is something that should be ever-expanding and contracting. Just because they're not on the initial line-up doesn't mean they can't be later.

I like the inclusion of [blackout]Lobo[/blackout] tho. Makes me feel like this could almost be a modern Justice League International in tone.

Seems Steve Orlando might be aiming for a fluid roster...

That sounds good to me. I just need some Martian Manhunter in my life, and I need it NOW!

Fan art I found on Tumblr...

Too adorable, I don't know if my heart can take it.

Loved Aquaman, Batman and Superman this week.

I'm halfway through my pull for the week but so far, my favourites are Superman and Nightwing. The former was just adorable, especially the ending. I think any young boy can relate to a time when they got into a fight with their father's friend son and Nightwing's ending was so touching that I nearly cried. Yes, I'm a sap :p

I agree 100% on both counts.

Batman 10
Part 2 of the new Rebirth era Bane arc. This issue and last issue are interesting, in that part one featured Bane, but it was Batman visiting Arkham that was the highlight of the book, and this book features Batman storming Bane's nation and even confronting him, and again its not the Bane stuff that wins it for me, this time its the "letter" thats being narrated while this whole book is playing out. ReBane is sooooo much better than I Am Gotham and the Monster Men crossover, and if it stays like this, this book may move up my list of favorite Bat-books (Detective, All-Star, and Nightwing are all above Tom King's Batman). 8/10

Superman 10
Damian is such a dick. If I didn't like him as much as I do, I'd really hate him. I can't say I'm surprised by how Robin and Superboy are (or aren't) getting off, but I am surprised at how well Batman and this Superman are bonding, even letting Superman into the Batcave. Considering in every other DC book Batman has shown hesitation to trust or believe this Superman, seeing them acting like best frei...erh...trusted allies in this issue was unexpected. Cannot wait for Super Sons. Also, the faces in this book are creepy AF. 7/10 (art makes me want to take it down to a 6, its just the eyes on the faces...and the faces themselves half the time...)

Nightwing 8
The Raptor story arc ends. One criticism I read about Raptor is how he's written too "strongly" (Mary Sue) and is making Dick look bad in his own book. This issue definitely addressing that problem well. Nightwing came out of this one looking awesome. I actually enjoyed this arc (or arcs, since the Raptor arc did start, then get broken up by Monster Men, and had to continue into the last few issues). 8.5/10

Death of Hawkman 2
Okay, why wasn't this the 1st issue? Issue one of this mostly Hawkman story focused extensively on Adam Strange, and by the end of that comic, I had no idea how we got to Hawkman and Strange teaming-up together on another planet (were they on Rann? Thanagar?? It wasn't Earth, is the point...). This issue gives both Hawkman and Adam Strange fair share of the spotlight, and at least hints which version of Hawkman we're dealing with in Rebirth (he's definitely a continuation of New 52 Hawkman, so we're not dealing with yet another new Hawk-retcon here). It actually sets the tone as to how we got to where issue one is alluding to, better than the flashback portions of issue one itself...And while Despero literally shows up for one second, at least the damn main villain shows up. So are Adam Strange and Hawkman best friends now, cause I'm too used to the Atom and Hawkman as besties. 8/10
Has anybody noticed how much nakedness DC Comics has had in a very short time as of Rebirth? (Hawkman, Bane twice, Hugo Strange, Steve Trevor, Wonder Woman, Guy Gardner, Deathstroke, Barbara Minerva Ann)

My monthly go-to books are

  • Batman
  • Superman (A fave)
  • All-Star Batman
  • Teen Titans
  • Titans
  • Flash
  • Wonder Woman (A fave)
  • Nightwing
  • Deathstroke
  • Blue Beetle
  • Death of Hawkman
  • Detective Comics (A fave)
  • Action Comics (A fave)
  • Trinity (A fave)
  • Hal Jordan & the Green Lanterns
  • Red Hood & the Outlaws (hell's frozen over...A fave!)
  • Super Sons and the new JL book when they starts
Are there any I'm not ready you guys would say I'm crazy for not? I tried the following and never went back: Green Arrow, Supergirl, Batgirl, Birds of Prey, Green Lanterns, Batman Beyond, Suicide Squad. Most I just got behind, Batgirl, Birds of Prey, and Justice League just did nothing for me.

I've noticed that sometimes books added to DC's current monthly roster are reflected in collected editions they're putting out...

There's a Batwoman solo coming up, so they're also putting out a collection of Greg Rucka's Batwoman.

We've got a Super Sons book on the way, so the Saga of the Super Sons hits in January.

There's a new Vigilante miniseries going, so the old Vigilante solo gets collected.

So, what I'm getting at is...

Coincidence?

And before anyone asks, I doubt the new season of the animated series will be out anywhere near April 2017.

Well, those kick-ass characters like Tim, Cassie, Connor, Bart, gotta go/show up somewhere in Rebirth, might as well burden us with a Rebirth YJ book for the 2010s. Please burden us with a Rebirth YJ book.

Those two doors adjacent to Tim's cell have to be holding Connor and Bart.

Anyone have hopes/suggestions for upcoming Rebirth titles?

Mine would be...

Young Justice
Legion of Super-Heroes
Justice Society of America
Static Shock
/maybe other Milestone books?
Something Fourth World/New Gods-related
Probably a Black Lightning book, considering they're developing a TV series
The Question, starring Renee Montoya
Shazam/Marvel Family
Zatanna

Probably tons more.

I think the current best DC titles are Trinity, Superman, Detective Comics, and Wonder Woman. All four of those books have been most excellent.

I think there are rumours of Tom King doing LoSH.
Static Shock and Milestone stuff, we're just waiting on Jim Lee...
I ****ing love Renee, but I'd like to see Vic Sage back as the Q (could be a miniseries).
Shazam Family? Sure. Maybe once Geoff Johns has spare time from his DCEU duty he and Gary Frank can come up with a another Shazam book.
More Zatanna is always a good thing. DC will print a new trade next year collecting all of Dini's work on the character.

Anything involving Martian Manhunter would get my support. Besides him, we're still missing Firestorm and the Shazam family from that initial Rebirth promo. We know that the Legion and JSA are in the works. Beyond that, Black Lightning would be cool, same with The Question (Though I prefer Vic Sage to Montoya) With the JLD animated movie coming out and the live action film in the works once again, I think it would be good to bring that back into play.

I feel like Renee being The Question would fit better with the renewed focus on legacy, but I wouldn't mind there being a comic set on the earth with all the Charlton characters, Vic included.

I just need a Young Justice book and a JSA book with Wildcat on the roster. I was thinking about what they could do with Clayface if he's ever rotated out of Detective Comics, instead of just having him go back to being a villain again, put him on a Rebirth Outsiders book.

I think the current best DC titles are Trinity, Superman, Detective Comics, and Wonder Woman. All four of those books have been most excellent.

Agreed, and I'll raise you Action Comics and (God help us) even Red Hood &tOL.

The opening Doomsday arc in Action was pretty dumb, but it has indeed gotten quite good since then! Red Hood and the Outlaws has been the most surprising title. I never would of expected it to be as good as it has been.

I don't know if anyone else has been reading Blue Beetle but I think its finally picked up and this last issue was really good. DC also seems to be introducing Green Beetle to the DCU!! All I can say is finally!
