You aren't missing much. It's as bad as it looks. There are better ways to spend your 30 minutes.

yea, the whole teen aspect turned me off from the show. I've taken a pass from it and won't be picking up any DVD's they release either

I'll wait for a better adaption to come along

...and I hope that those of you who got to see the film before the release date actually go and buy a copy (even if you never open it). I think this will further the cause to make this stick as a perpetual franchise.

Too true...

from Lauren Montgomery's blog (in reply to a fan asking about future films of lesser known heroes)....
there is very little chance of a lesser known character being the headliner of his/her own film. The sad fact is that Warner Home Video (not Warner Bros Animation, we'd LOVE to work on the unknown characters) doesn't think they can sell anything that doesn't have either Batman or Superman in it. And unfortunately, they were proven right, much to my dismay, with the unimpressive sales figures that Wonder Woman returned. So unless Green Lantern blows everyone out of the water with some insane sales, the best you we really hope for for the not so well known characters is a supporting role alongside Supes or Bats. It's sad...but true. I don't like this reality any more than you do, trust me.

I'm going to pick it up later today. I haven't seen it yet except for the first four minutes posted online. I'm pretty excited to watch this. I'm hoping I'll enjoy it alot. :woot:

I can appreciate the honesty from Ms. Montgomery

I can appreciate the honesty, but again, people aren't looking at this correctly. Superman and Batman will always sell more then WW (and GL). The Batman Gotham Knights was pushed by The Dark Knight as well as the mutliple animated series it has had. Wonder Woman has not been seen by mainstream audiences since the 70s (except for a supporting role in JLU)... what did they expect? I would say GL would be an even harder sell, most people outside of comic book fans do not know GL at all, however Blackest Night is gonna push this movie to do well (As will the DC Nation devoted to it, something WW didn't get).

You can not compare the success of the Batman and Superman dvds to WW and GL, they are two different catergories. Sadly, WB won't think like that but to call a top 5 debut for an animated female, straight to dvd debut unimpressive is really ridiculous. I don't think any female live action comic book movie scored a top 5 debut on the big screen!

actually WB can compare...they are all comic based DVDs coming out of the same company and Wonder Womans #'s weren't great as compared to the other properties

lol you missed the entire point of my post. You can not compare characters like WW and GL with minimal mainstream exposure (who basically live only comics) to Superman and Batman who are hugly recognizable and have had mutltiple television series, animated series, big screen movies and mutliple comic books. When it comes to the mainstream audience, comic books have very little to do with it.

well it appears that the bean counters at WB are doing just that...I enjoyed the WW movie, bought the 2 disc spec. ed, but I don't expect another one

you're saying that they shouldn't be held to the same standards as supes/bats. i agree with it, but it's still a business. it costs them the same amount to make the movies, yet the returns aren't that great. it's just like a comic book store that doesn't sell any superman or batman merchandise.

I personally would love to see an independent flash movie before they completely give up on 2nd tier characters .

Right, it costs the same, I agree. But they should have factored these things into the cost... maybe they didn't need such a big name cast for example. They should never have expected WW (or GL) to sell as well as Batman and Superman. GL might come close though since he is extremely popular right now. Either way, WW has only been out for a few months and is still selling decently... hopefully GL will help it pick up a bit.

I need to pick up WW, I forgot to do that :(

it wasn't that big of a cast...Keri Russell hasn't done **** since Felicity, Nathan Fillion probably did the job for scale because he was already getting paid for Castle

Keri Russell was in Waitress, not a huge star though, I agree. Alfred Molina, Virginia Madsen, Oliver Platt and Rosario Dawson are pretty big names. If you notice, GL has a voice cast of mostly televison stars, maybe they learned?

She had an important part in MI3 as well, very touching :(

I picked up the 2-Disc Special Edition on DVD, can't wait to watch it tonight! :D
I'll try and remember to write somewhat of a review after I have watched it.

I picked up the Blu-ray Special edition from BestBuy that brings the GL figurine this afternoon, I'll be watching it tonight!!!:D:up:
