DC Universe Classics

Just got Classic Detective Batman and The Flash for a whopping 45 bucks local currency. I like Classic Bats' colors and the sculpt is pretty impressive but I'm starting to see the male sculpts as pretty identical. The Flash I'm not too pleased with, Barry should be leaner, less built. Same goes with my Batman Beyond fig. Yeah it can be argued that its Adult Terry but I think we'd all like more varied scale.

I might pick up Artemis next. Placed a pre-order for Wave 8. Classic Fate and Gentleman Ghost look too good to pass out on.

The sculpts are the same.. It kind of sucks.

Oh noes! I made a major mistake painting over some clay stains on my Batman Beyond fig! Need HELP! What shade of black do I need? I can't seem to get the shiny finish the rest of the figure has! I used Mars Black Acrylic paint but now the black is flat around the right thigh of the fig! Damage control please!

Or you could just go to a Gamesworkshop store and buy some Warhammer paints. Only two problems I can see are price and colour names.

Also Mattel needs to reissue DCSH Darkseid and Doomsday.

Oyy..Took some advice. Ended up buying Chaos Black and Frosted Black. A little worried to try which. That aside, I picked up Blue Beetle which feels a little wasted since now I have a discardable limb. I like the fig though, hope Mattel releases Jaime's Blue Beetle fig (using Robin's body sculpt preferrably) to compliment it.

No kidding. I need both of them real bad.

Series 8 ships out next week from CSC!

Agreed. However, I have to say that I'd only be interested in that Darkseid if he had the darker color scheme that one version of the DCSH mold had (can't remember which version that was, though), rather than the lighter blue, personally. Also, as much as I hate Doomsday as a character, I have to admit that my Superman & Villains display looks incomplete without him.

doomsday?
when did you guys get into the collecting game?
i saw him all the time 2 years ago

The 3 of us are in Canada. So where you saw it means jack. Canadian retailers didn't carry DCSH much. TRU a little, it's where I got Bizzaro. The others (Wal-Mart, Zellers, Sears) didn't. For what that's worth, stores here JUST started carrying Star Wars battlepacks. Of the 4 DCSH figures I have I got 3 of them (black symbol Superman, Supergirl, Steel) at Winners. Which is a discount store that buy old stock (cloths mostly) from other retailers and sells it cheap. Toys included.

Hmm. Must remember to check out Winners.

Last time I was there they had Legendary comic heroes and ML Hulk. And the costco AT-TE.

yeah, winners sometimes gets stuff......

Grrrrr at Canada

I did run into a Doomsday one day, but it was the red colored one. Which I did not want.

Checked out Winners yesterday. Although I didn't find any DCUC figs, I did come across the whole Foom wave of Hulk MLs. That probably would've come in handy if I hadn't already gone through hoops to finish Foom a few months ago.

How come Marvel's toys are superior to DC's when it comes to articulation? Every Batman or Superman figure I've looked at were without ball jointed legs. They are all those blocky kinda things that only move forward and backwards.

Has anyone come across Wave 8 yet at Toys R US, Target or Walmart yet??? I've seen them at comic stores but they are way over priced there.

Not superior, just different. Unless your talking about DCD toys, which do have crap articulation. DCUC toys do have the same range of motion in the hips as a ball joint, most of the time (Penguin).
