DC vs. Marvel Issue

I'm sure I'll rent MK vs. DC eventually, but it does seem pretty lame that they toned down the violence in a Mortal Kombat game. Forget the DC stuff; the words "Mortal Kombat" used to stand for something. :o

Don't forget the winners of DC vs. Marvel were voted on by the fans. Making Wolverine win realistically would have been a real pain in the ass. It was awful, but the writers were screwed there.

Hey I didnt vote for that travesty but they were the first 4 comics I bought so i guess i deserve that.

He's also Superman Class in strength.
wow, and they settled for Wolverine being the winner, was this one of the fights in which fans voted on, or was it an agreement between the companies that because Lobo's more of a villain he'd loose?

Literally every match was voted on, so the fans were on a Wolverine high at the time.

A good point I saw raised is that it's kind of funny that Warner's all getting its censor on videogames-wise when in its actual comics they've got mutant-Wonderdog brutally eviscerating the twins and Catwoman's heart yanked out of her chest and Doctor Rapesy McRaperton just having himself a raping good time. But if I want to see someone cut Hal Jordan's junk off and staple it to his face oh nooooooooooooo, that's the unbreakable boundary of human decency?

More kiddies play video games. Plus, I think it was partly Midway's decision to censor because they wanted a lower rating.

The actual Marvel Vs DC (or DC VS. Marvel, depending on the variants and issues) was pretty much a stretch, introducing these two "brothers" that had never been seen before nor since.
Much worse than the actual series was the Amalgam comics that came out during that time.
Lobo the Duck? Seriously?
It must be said that some of the artwork was great.

Well, this on'e not so great, I just want to illustrate the goofiness of it all. A web gun? Really?

It also pissed me off that each respective publisher put in ads in their subsequent comics touting the fact that "We won!". Pathetic.
Plus, the Access kid was really nebby...

I liked the Amalgam comics. Merging DC and Marvel characters was a fun idea. I don't think many of them came out that great, but some were fun.

Access was around for awhile longer after the series no?
Yeah, they made a short lived mini series. I don't even know if it reached completion. I vaguely remember Robin and Jubilee having a fling, or something...

Hey Doc, you're from Cleveland? My hometown...

Not true. A number of the fights weren't on any poll. Those WERE predetermined.

I know the list that is quoted below is a matchup of all the characters, but I have the voting card in the beack of my original 4 issues and the so called Primary Matches are able to be voted on.
SO is that list below really true or am I high?

Oh really? These matches the fans didn't vote for?

Super-Soldier was my favorite character in the Amalgam stuff. Captain America and Superman put together? That guy could probably kill people with pure inspiration.

The concept of Cap and Supe merged is cool...but the design is awful.
