DC's Definitive Joker origin

^^yeah, there was definitely a lot of good stuff in the issue. it was good, but just coulda been better. but its cool, most arcs always have the "filler" issue. so, it didnt bother me none.

Absolutely loved the latest issue. Possibly my favourite one so far. Joker gets right down to business with his comedic themed slaughter. The circus part was fantastic.

Trying to get Batman's attention, Harley's cameo, the Joker blimp etc......loved it all.

I missed this issue. I haven't seen it in stock at my local Forbidden Planet, and I just assumed it wasn't out yet...:csad:

I hate this arc...can't wait for the next one.

Picked this up today, as well as ASB&R #8.

I can dig the writing. The art; not so much. I mean, it really bugs me. They couldn't have picked someone better? Someone who didn't look like they drew the panels with their eyes closed?

I can tell, in a few months, we're about to have a Joker overload.

Yes, because they've used him so sparingly in the last years. /Sarcasm

I liked this issue. My only real problem with it is the forced pre-Joker Harley Quinn connection. Also, how the hell did Joker get a huge glass-filled blimp and paint a clown face on it in, what, 18 hours?

I was rereading Confidential #10 and I never noticed before, but how did the chemicals dye his suit purple as well? :o

Same way they dyed his hair and skin one would presume.

Read this issue, and LOVED it! The characterisations of both Batman and The Joker are just phenomenal. Really interesting insights, and both are approached from slightly different angles than what we're used to.

I've been a big fan of "Lovers and Madmen", and this was the best part yet. If we get a suitably climactic finale, I think this could be the best Joker story since "Dark Detective", at least!

This story bugs me because from the moment he falls into the chemicals, it's awesome. It's the backstory that pisses me all the way off. That's just wrong. I don't care how much Alan Moore talks **** on The Killing Joke, I don't care how often the Joker says he doesn't remember his own origin, I don't care if it will always be a mystery...no. The Killing Joke is what really happened.

That's the great thing about Joker, he has several different origins. You can choose whichever one you like best to be his definitive one.

i always liked the origin from black and white vol 2....but i like the way this story has established the joker as a character and how harley quinn was introduced. hopefully it will have a kickass ending when it comes out next week

Black and White 2? What is his origin there?

Black and White 2? What is his origin there?

The Joker is an amoral gangster, who enjoys killing. His dip in the chemical bath disfigures him, but doesn't drive him insane like it usually does. Instead, he uses his disfigurement to reinvent himself as The Joker. He uses it as an opportunity to escalate his killing to mass murder, and only pretends to be insane to avoid being punished for his crimes. Basically, all the laughing and craziness is a ruse, and underneath it all he's a cold, calculating -and very sane - killer.

any news on when this is coming out?
