I just noticed Colossus is wearing socks. lol

Lol pretty much.

Let’s be real honest here. If they casted Zazie and then painted her white what do you think would’ve happened? There would be an outcry from the PC keyboard warriors who don’t even know the character and then the movie would get a ton of negative press from the get go. They obviously wanted to cast diversely in this film when they were looking for actresses for Domino and they went with what they thought was going to cause the least controversy. Some fans saying this doesn’t look like the comic Domino compared to masses of people who complain just to complain. I get where they went and respect it.

I hate that we live in an age where we have to fear people with too much time on their hands.

There are folks who are asking why TJ Miller is still in this and how they refuse to watch the movie because he is in it. I can only imagine what would have happened had they cast Zazie and then painted her white.

From what I heard, Zazie was the best Domino in the audition process. They didn't cast her just cause she is black. They cast her because she went toe to toe with Ryan and she even got the job after only one audition.

There are folks who complain about Gamora being green. I am being dead serious with this. And these are the folks who will complain the loudest and make sure their voices are heard. So yea I think they made the right decision in not painting Zazie white.

People complain about all sort of things, doesn't mean every complain is equal to another. There are valid criticisms/opinions and there's stupid ****.

I don't think there would be any significant outrage if they applied white make up on Zazie's skin.

RIP. It was too good to become a reality...

I'll just wait for the MCU version.

If you think that then you've been truly living under a rock.

I know it’s ridiculous.

I’m sorry but that’s a very naive perspective and I’m not trying to be rude. There would be a ton of negativity surrounding a black woman being painted white. Like I said general audiences who don’t know the comics and especially people in the black community now fighting for more diversity in films will not be happy with it. It’s the truth. If they wanted a comic accurate Domino then they should’ve cast someone white or someone with light skin. But they went with whoever did the best audition and whoever killed it and nailed the character. I respect them for making that call because obviously it was Zazie and from the trailers she looks pretty amazing. I understand also that not getting a comic accurate look from page is annoying sometimes but they have already the hard task of trying to impress everyone and the better actress should get the job and not someone who just looks the part.

I wouldn't bet on that. As much as disappointed I am about not getting the look I really like, chance for it happening is close to zero. Not only MCU will be busy with choke-full of new properties (as well as mega-successful existing), Deadpool is about to become a living and breathing universe on it's own, and looks like it will live a bit longer.

But that argument could be applied the other way too. If people complaining about painting a person of color chalk white for a role have too much time on their hands, couldn’t the same be said of people complaining because they didn’t paint her white?

Honestly, I can see Deadpool 3 and X-Force getting less importance in the new Fox. I think in terms of Marvel films, the ones under the MCU would be treated better and prioritized more. And honestly after Deadpool 2, how many films do they have in store? Deadpool 7? X-Force 4? Deadpool and X-Force would be in an island, and long term, that would be a hindrance especially when the X-Men finally interact with the Avengers. So I won't be surprised if it gets rebooted as well, maybe in phase 5 or 6.

No, because I doubt people unhappy with the actress not looking comic accurate, will be wasting any kind of energy trying to tear the movie down or trying to get people to boycott it.

If it was so unimportant the head of Disney would not have immediately addressed Deadpool.

Ryan has as many followers as RDJ. Replacing him or getting rid of Deadpool is gonna cause real backlash. Disney and Marvel know this which is why it was quickly assured they would find a way to make Deadpool work with the merge. Plus...

20th Century Fox’s Deadpool 2 is breaking more advance-ticket sales records. Fandango now is reporting that Deadpool 2 is already pacing to be the top R-rated preseller in its 18-year history, outstripping 2015’s Fifty Shades of Grey. That’s big, considering that Fandango covers sales for more than 30K screens across the country.

This is not a small property nobody cares about. Even if this film is more Iron Man 2 then Dark Knight it's gonna go on. Or else Disney and the MCU would feel extreme backlash with rebooting something all the MCU audience care about and are invested in. Which is not their goal, they know Ryan's Deadpool works with audiences and brings in tons of money. On the same level or even more then a number of their own properties. Without China nonetheless.

I don't think any of it is as simple as that.

Alot of it will be down to negotiating and figuring stuff out. whether thats the messy job of dissecting elements like cutting pictures out of a book and gluing them to the MCU or seeing what ryan wants to do with the series that may or may not conflict with marvels vision.

i feel like dissecting is far more messier then taking the whole package, which means either say it's an alternative universe or accept that this is your cable now whether you like it or not and anything that happened under the freedoms of fox is apparently in your universe too.

The entire concept of Deadpool hinges on him being media aware. They can integrate him in there without a reboot. And he'll know about everything that has happened prior.

Yes they can do it with him, but what about everyone else in his movies?

Its fair to say Ryan may want to keep his fellow cast members (perhaps even colossus and TNW) and he may not want to do a fresh restart purely so he can play around with Captain America (if he survives) or spider-man.

Which means that Disney will need to embrace what the foxverse Deadpool done and bring it all over and then make sense of it all.

How will they do that? probably not by ignoring elements.

Who says Deadpool wouldn't be separate? They said they want a new Marvel brand with him. Not throw him in perfect continuity where rules can no longer be broken. The reason for that brand would be so Deadpool can be Deadpool and letting audiences know this is a different side of the MCU.

He can still cross over into other films given his rule breaking.

Pluck DP out the world he exist in, place him in a pocket in the mcu like the Netflix heroes. Write a story that doesn't rely on the narrative from the first two movies. No need to over complicate it.

I hope whatever happens, Josh Brolin is kept as Cable.

Feige doesn't even want to aknowledge the existence of the Netflix/tv shows... the idea that he would allow characters created by a completely different studio into the MCU is... well, I think it's kind of laughable, sorry.

The TV shows simply don't matter to the films.

Once Deadpool hits the wall, then we shall see. The thing is no one is irreplaceable, in the decade in which Spider-Man, the X-Men and the Fantastic Four would be under Disney's pocket. A Deadpool reboot is hardly impossible especiallya lot of things could happen in a few years. And sometimes, it just takes 1 bad film for the viewers lose interest and who knows if Reynolds has the desire to play the character for the neXt twenty years.
