Feige doesn't even want to aknowledge the existence of the Netflix/tv shows... the idea that he would allow characters created by a completely different studio into the MCU is... well, I think it's kind of laughable, sorry.

Isn't it just that Feige doesn't get on very well with the guy running the tv side of things? Either way though the TV side is still part of the MCU and probably requires some back and forth between them.

But then its been said that Sonys Spider-man Spin offs are meant to be part of the MCU and Fiege isn't even a producer on those films.

Lol pretty much.

Let’s be real honest here. If they casted Zazie and then painted her white what do you think would’ve happened? There would be an outcry from the PC keyboard warriors who don’t even know the character and then the movie would get a ton of negative press from the get go. They obviously wanted to cast diversely in this film when they were looking for actresses for Domino and they went with what they thought was going to cause the least controversy. Some fans saying this doesn’t look like the comic Domino compared to masses of people who complain just to complain. I get where they went and respect it.

I understand what you mean. I Remember all the outrage when Zoe Saldana was painted green for Gamora.

The thing is if you know that there would be a controversy if a certain actress is painted in white paint then maybe you shouldn't cast the actress at all. Domino doesn't look like Domino in this. I don't care if the actress is great and all that (I certainly haven't heard her name before), but having a comic accurate look in cb films is important. She doesn't look the part at all and that's the problem.

Or they did paint her white but it looked terrible. So they went with a different look. Happens all the time.

They certainly could have given her the black patch and the Bob hairstyle. She looks like a version of Domino from an alternate universe, except that version doesn't exist in the comics. In my opinion, they don't care about staying true to the comic book look of Domino.

If her skin isn't chalk white, what's the point of a Black patch? And these are filmmakers, not fanboys. Their first priority is that everything works. Not that everything should be faithful.

The point is staying true to the look of the characters as much as they can. Which clearly they didn't do.

About staying true to the comics, do we know how close they are sticking to everyone's comic origins? I love that we get a version of the X-Force, even if this formation never existed in the comics, but I still don't like how they all seem to come together. I know you can't stuff years of comic history into 2 hours, but apparently all these mutants who have their own codenames, suits and powers, [BLACKOUT]come together because they answer Deadpool's ad[/BLACKOUT]. So what exactly were all these characters with a rich comic history doing, before Deadpool was looking for a team? Just sitting at home, twiddling their thumbs?

If they don't care about being faithful then just create new characters... Not adapt something that they don't even care adapting faithfully in the first place. If this isn't based from something, no one would complain.

I was really mad when I saw that Liev Schreiber wasn't in yellow and brown spandex with a big fur collar.

Oh wait, no I wasn't.

Some of these Mutants that join "X-Force" in this film are probably not meant to be taken that seriously. at least not if the said pay off has much to say for it.

I would rather have someone who can act the part of the character rather than look the part. Jennifer Lawrence gets painted blue in every damn X-men film and yet she can't act like Mystique for whatever reason. Whether she just doesn't care or whatever it maybe but her "acting" on the screen is a big distraction because it's obvious she'd rather be anywhere but in the movie. And no painting her blue to make her look the part didn't change any of that.

If Zazie can act like Domino then she can have the part. Staying faithful to the comics isn't just about how the characters look. It's about their personalities as well. Why do you think the MCU does a great job? Because all their actors/actresses they get nail down the personalities of the characters they're playing. The first Deadpool was a great comic adaptation not just because of Deadpool looking exactly like Deadpool but because of Ryan's portrayal of the character. I mean in Wolverine Origins, Ryan played Deadpool and didn't have the red suit yet people loved his portrayal of the character (up until they sewed his mouth shut of course). Had Fox gotten an actor who couldn't show Deadpool's personality on screen, it wouldn't matter how they looked.

Your comic book movie will be far more successful if you can get actors/actresses that can become the character they're portraying versus them just looking the part.

Probably a jab at their own X-Men movies.

They hardly takes risks in the team formation department do they. Same old blue gal in charge of the merry band of afterthoughts.

Or its just Deadpool and the ad idea is funnier.

Now you could argue there is the stuff in the trailer where deadpool is describing the franchise building requirement of the people they need but thats more of a joke aimed at super hero movies in general.

The point is to adapt the spirit of the comics. Not to replicate everything to the most pedantic degree.

That's why it's called an ADAPTATION!! If I want everything 100% like the comics, then I'll read the comics.

I was really mad when I saw that Liev Schreiber wasn't in yellow and brown spandex with a big fur collar.

Oh wait, no I wasn't.

And if he was, you obviously wouldn't like it? So why not bring back Barakapool look again instead since its all about adapting the spirit of the comics...:o never mind what the character looks like since film isn't a visual medium..

This is such a facepalm moment...

So forget that Zazie nailed the audition and got the characterization down. She didn’t look like Domino so bad luck she shouldn’t be cast. And you don’t care that the actress is great? So you’d prefer if they got an actress who looked the part more then act the part? There’s plenty of talented actresses. It’s obvious that Fox and the director wanted to go in a different direction with Domino. We don’t need another white actress playing a role, it’s nice to see they wanted to go with a talented actress who is also not white. And why should they create a new character? I don’t get the uproar in this honestly. Did you complain when they made Nick Fury black or the ancient one a woman? They went for the actors who they thought would do the part justice and those two actors were loved in their respective roles.

You know what Viola Davis or Meryl Streep could have auditioned for the role and nailed it... But would that instantly make them look the part and right for the role... No right?

They could get Domino's characteristics / "spirit" right in the film. But visually, its inaccurate which some of you are ignoring and aren't accepting. They didn't get Domino's look right. Whether they develop her well is another question. But visually, this doesn't look like Domino especially in non closeup shots and that's why there's criticism for her. And you don't adapt something from the comics and make them to look so different and not eXpect criticism. This isn't Fox's rodeo by the way in this.

Barakapool is the opposite of the essence of Deadpool character. What a poor comparison.

But they weren't up for casting. So it's such an irrelevant point.

She has a patch of skin on her eye in contrast to the rest of her. And wearing black leather. Sounds like Domino to me.

Again post the picture of comics Domino next to movie Domino's pic and I doubt you can deny how drastic it is.

I was referring to his appearance, not how Barakapool was developed as a character.

Not really. It's just color flipped. It's far less dramatic than Green Goblin or Bane.
