Deadpool 2 Deadpool 2 News and Discussion - Part 2

I think this may be Surge.
Seen other people suggest this. According to Jeremy Conrad, she's called Yoiki.
Edit from Conrad so changing it here as well: Twitter needs an edit function. Actually spelling is Yoiki (I missed the i).

Shiori seems to be playing an original character. Doesn't seem all that Surge at all and seems normal to do too.

The amazing hair and cool moves aside, I actually really like this character's costume design as well.

Fantastic. :)

Stumbled upon a more expansive explanation from Conrad:
The identity of the new purple/pink haired mutant in the trailer is Yoiki. And Yoiki is Negasonic Teenage Warhead’s girlfriend from the Xavier mansion. Yoiki is in the movie a lot, pretty much whenever you see Negasonic, and they do have a big action scene late in the movie...

I'll put the rest in spoilers, cuz you know... spoilers.

About third act
...where the two go with Colossus after a famous X-Men villain.
Character trait
She annoys Deadpool because every time she sees him she says “Hi Wade!” in a cute voice.
Post credit scene
She and Negasonic also kick off the post-credit scenes by fixing something together.
Not sure how reliable this is of course. ;)

Can't wait for this. Best trailer yet.

Also, glad we finally have a pair of LGBTQ superheroes in a movie!

I clearly need to rewatch Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants. I have clearly missed some subtext.
Reynolds wife Blake Lively was in the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants which is why he probably cracked a joke about it.
Also Rob Delaney does seem to have a role in this film. Pete Wisdom? He's behind Bill in the plane. Same sized role as Terry, Bill and Lewis though it seems. Though he was just doing a set visit since Ryan liked his work so much, but we all know what Ryan liking an actor will seem to get you in these films.
I could see Rob Delaney doing a bad British accent joke version of Pete Wisdom.

It's also Jeremy Conrad so...wouldn't take his word for it. Granted I do think it's an original character but yeah.

Yeah I'd like to see some official word on it, but this is the best we've got right now. :woot:

Marvel could have been the first but they keep cutting it out from their films for whatever reason.

Pretty good trailer. I can easily see a new Xforce line up for the Xforce movie

Because they're afraid that it'll hurt their box office potential in some places/countries, that's pretty obvious.

I don't like that they keep doing that, but that's the reasoning behind. The fact that they DO allow LGBT characters into their TV shows is further proof of this imo.

I hope the secret cameo in Deadpool 2 is Tom Holland as Spidey.

I thought it was a good trailer. I'm still excited about it. Not sure it disproves the bad buzz spoilers, but honestly, nothing in those early spoilers sounded bad IMO. Literally, nothing at all.

Even the Juggernaut thing. Let's not pretend that Marvel Studios hasn't done this in the past.

There was nothing in those spoilers, even if they are true that sounded bad.

I can't stress enough that it's not about how things look like on paper but how they are actually executed. Seeing this trailer confirms what I felt from the get go. But unfortunately we now live in a society where we allow others to dictate how our opinions should go and judge movies before we have even seen them ourselves.

I thought the trailer was brilliant.

Is the boy Cable is trying to "kill" is supposed to be Rusty?

Vanessa getting fridged sure sounded pretty bad imo.

Solid trailer. It has a number of things that make me even more hyped, as I've already been quite sold with the previous trailer.

I hope FINALLY, we have an explanation of the Deadpool timeline WITHIN the movie. There are several reports that the X-Men (Tye Sheridan, Sophie Turner, Alex Shipp and Kodi Smith) appears in a room in the X-Mansion.

I still have faith in FOX to try to "explain" things a little...

IMHO, context is important. And to be perfectly honest, I always felt Deadpool staying with her at the end of the first film was kinda weird. I'm not saying I hated it, but I felt like they didn't have much where they could go with it.

Also, if part of it is he's trying to save her and get her back, I don't really see a problem with that either.

But we'll see.

I want to give you high fives Anonymous1213.

I'm with you 100% there. Now obviously, there was clearly some accuracy to those spoilers based off this trailer. But even if they are accurate, again the things people are complaining about hardly would ruin the film for me.

Of course, we still have to see the film. But it's EXACTLY as you say Anonymous, execution is key, but it looks on point so far. Not saying we have nothing to worry about, but those who were *****ing about the spoilers, again, I see nothing that really sounded bad in them.

Agreed. Hard to see what she'll be doing for the whole film besides waiting for him to come home everyday or getting kidnapped again.

They shot a scene for Ayo in BP regarding her being a lesbian but it was cut from the movie. It’s kind of disappointing.

Yeah exactly. They totally took away her mutant backstory. So I felt unless they actually had her develop mutant powers, I wasn't sure where else they could really go with that relationship. And what you just described perfectly voices my issue with it. That's why I'm not getting into the whole, "Oh noez, they fridged the girl!" BS.
