I take it everyone has seen the Deadpool test footage on Youtube?

Without it I doubt this movie would've gotten the green light

Clearly. I feel certain Deadpool's director didn't advise the crew to not read any DP comics, for instance.

Well they can't all be James Gunn...

Chris Pratt

["Well, when I first talked with James here I had some read of the newest, the [Brian Michael] Bendis stuff, the very newest stuff. And I talked to James and I was like, “What do you think?” And he was like, “Don’t read any more. I don’t want you to read any.”‘ He was like, Abnett and Andy Lanning if I want, if I felt I had to read something, we’d be closest to that. But he was like, “Don’t, because we’re not recreating the comic books.” We’re essentially just another delivery system for Marvel material. We’re not necessarily making a movie based on those comic books. We’re just telling more superhero/Guardians of the Galaxy stories, just using a different medium. It would be like if someone else was going to release another Guardians of the Galaxy comic book, you wouldn’t necessarily need to go through and read all the previous comic books and pick and choose what you want to use. You want to do your own thing. So I think that’s kind of what we’re doing. The name and the title and the characters are from different incarnations of the “Guardians of the Galaxy,” but this is its own thing. James told me to kind of steer clear of that. He probably just wanted me to treat his script like the Holy Bible. And so I sort of have."]

Don't you know FOX is one individual person? :loco:

And speaking of comics, what would yall recommend? I've read Simone's run, Cable & Deadpool, and I *think* the 2nd DP miniseries from the 90's. Are there any good collections besides thats tuff?

There's a recent Joe Kelly omnibus. That maybe the 90s run you've read though.

Curious to see what his will look like underneath the mask.

One of the reports I read suggested they make her or morlock, or just have her running around with Gina Carano's character

Man, this is craaaazy! So many characters I've never heard of before and no idea what they do :funny:

Hope he also quips about all the D-List characters. "Wow, the studio is really scraping the bottom of the barrel here."

It's official from FOX, you can read it even at IMDB.

It seems like Ryan Reynolds has been fighting with FOX over the rating, which isn't exactly reassuring, considering they're in the middle of filming ( so they should make sure they shoot for the exact right tone, otherwise things could get messy). Fingers crossed they won't f' this up (and no, a great suit doesn't automatically make a great movie):

Ryan Reynolds @VancityReynolds · 8 h 8 ore fa
“@DPklok051: Is it going to be rated R or PG-13?" I want #Deadpool to be R. Always have. Fighting the good fight still. Lotta yelling today.

Good to hear Reynolds being so vocal about it, but he's always been the main reason I every had faith in this project. He's always seemed like a trustworthy dude - no, X-Men Origins: Wolverine doesn't matter. He didn't co-write or help develop that movie. :dpf:

I'm alright and even excited about Miller and co. using these unknown characters in Deadpool. This is the perfect place to use them and given the passion that everyone behind this project has shown, these characters should be given the treatment they deserve. Fox needs to aggressively expand the goldmine of characters that they have and make the D-listers into A-listers, just as Marvel has.

And hopefully Reynolds does get his R rating. I think if Miller and co. make it in the same vein as Kingsman it should be fine (and financially successful) And if Ryan does get his R rating, then there better be something equal to or better than Firth's church fight.

"We're sorry about Fantastic Four, here's an amazing Deadpool costume to make you not completely hate us." :o

Its not like they haven't given us comic-book inspired costumes for the Fantastic Four in the past. And I think its pretty clear, that they are trying to separate the look and the tone of the film from the previous Fantastic Four films.

Deadpool getting a comic-book inspired costume isn't surprising given by Fox's costuming for Daredevil, Elektra and Fantastic Four in the past films. X-Men seem to be the exception but their comic-book costumes (their most well-known 616 costume to be exact) aren't exactly easy to adapt in live-action since they are a group and for Wolverine, I just don't see how he could wear a yellow-orange ensemble after those leather suits from the original trilogy.

To be fair, he was doing Pratt a favor. Bendis's run on Guardians if awful & Gunn even suggested the great DnA run to Pratt; I'd hope the director of this movie wouldn't let any of the actors read anything from Daniel Way's Deadpool run if they asked him about it.

Based on that casting call it's looking like we only have Blind Al, Colossus and whoever 'Albert' is left to cast. Hopefully there's some surprises in there too.

Honestly at the edge of my seat. C'mon, Miller!!!
