^X-men 3 (pages of) Jennifers Body and Shutter Island are all film scripts I've read before those movies came out and they all came to fruition... What are you talking about?

Shutter Island was a book before it was a film/script. Not to mention a graphic novel adaptation was made as well. Totally different.

Jennifer's Body was another situation as well, as it was Diablo Cody's 2nd script, on the heels of Juno, and everyone wanted it. It was finished long ago and the writers strike caused further delays.

You don't know what you are talking about. Most films have their script leaked online before the film hits the theaters. Some even before they enter filming (MIB3, Dredd, Paul, Thundercats, Riddick 3, Akira, Ghost Rider 2 etc. etc.)

It doesn't really seem to affect anything.

Hrm, let's see..

MIB3 - No brainer; cast already signed; ongoing series

Dredd - 50/50; Already in pre-production unlike Deadpool; Lead signed; script ready; production began

Thundercats - Fan script

Riddick 3 - Another ongoing series; with cast likely signed already -- notice a pattern?

Akira - Canned/shelved. Gary Whitta's first half was already over budget.

Ghost Rider 2 - Totally different from the one that was leaked

Again, what you guys keep missing out on, is that Reynolds hasn't signed on yet. Without him, there's no film. If he walks, they'd stupid to keep a script tailor made for Reynolds, especially since everyone has read it.

There's no director, no actor, just a script. Imagine if Fox decides to push it through, and gets Uwe Boll (just to pull a name out of the air), Reynolds would be locked into the film. There's a reason he hasn't signed on yet.

So if harry potter had a GN and a is based on a book and I read the script for that which had significant changes from the book it doesnt matter because it came from another media source?


BTW that's not the only scripts I've ever read in my life. I've read many I just didn't pull them out of a hat on the spot.

The point being, that there wasn't really significant changes from the source material.

So it doesn't matter if it was leaked, as the info was all out there to begin with, in multiple forms.

Again, contrast it to Deadpool which isn't based on any specific comic arc and is an original script.

Anyways, can we try and steer the conversation back on topic?

^Shutter Island the movie's ending is totally diferent from the book...

But anyway back to topic. I think that the script surfacing and getting pretty good reviews only makes me have more hope for the film actually seeing the light of day.

I just finished reading it. I thought it was great,really true to Deadpool.I've never read a script before a movie came out,but after the first few pages I realized this movie is not gonna be made.At least not like this.It's just to violent and expensive for fox to make.

It's got a real "Crank"/"Shoot 'Em Up" feel to it. It won't translate exactly, and I have a feeling it won't retain Colossus, but it'd make a damn fun movie.
