Sequels Deadpool Spin-off Confirmed

Robert Rodriguez has a lot against him for Deadpool. I mean, if his recent run of movies means anything, than the Deadpool movie will be overly 'splodey, cheesy, and the laws of physics will be naught. Now, most people would think hell yeah (not sure why though), but by doing so the world Deadpool exists in will become crazy thus making him "normal" through context since hes just like everything else. THis has to be a very grounded movie with a crazy protagonist. And the only CGI should be for healing.

If this is Desperado/Faculty- Rodriguez (the one who was gritty and violent while still restrained) than he has a shot, but if this is Once Upon a Time in Mexico/Spy Kids/Planet Terror- Rodriguez than this movie will most likely blow.(unfortuantely :()

I agree with the first paragraph completely. It'd be very easy to turn the movie into something entirely cheesy (especially if Pool-o-Vision is adapted), so I'm hoping Rodriguez will take tone into deep consideration. CGI doesn't need a huge role in this movie - if nothing else, it would keep production costs down.

Once Upon a Time in Mexico had the kind of tone I thought would be good for a movie like Deadpool. Obviously, the western motif wouldn't be ideal, but something that's down to earth, yet still achieving a large scale of danger and action, is something I could see working. Plus, Robert can definitely make a good gunfight.

RR is on the same level as he's always been...

I wasn't sure if you meant Reynolds or Rodriguez for a second

That's actually funny now that I think about it. If Robert decides to direct, we'd get two RRs.

Too bad Ronald Reagan's dead :( We still have Robert Redford to pop up, though

On the PG-13 thing, just remember; PJO was PG and they got away with tons of stuff. Decaptitation, suggestion, swearing, totally PG-13 stuff. I think it'll be just on the edge of R. There are two things Deadpool is famous for: violence and comedy. Ratings usually cap things like violence and gore, so there'll be less of that, leaving more room for comedy (which is what seperates him from every other Marvel character).

Not to mention, it could still be good as PG-13.

No it wouldnt. PG-13 is cutting off the balls. Deadpool should not be cut off at the balls. Why do you want PG-13 so much? Is it because you cant get into the theater?

And anytime anyone says "It's right at the EDGE OF R!" or "Hard PG-13"....I laugh. That's like saying a Badass Cuddle Bear. It doesnt make sense. TDK was not borderline R, the only movie that had the balls to actually BE borderline was Casino Royale. That was a pretty violent movie.

Deadpool shouldnt be borderline. Let that character run free. It's not like kids read Deadpool anyway...so who cares?

^^^^ THe studio that wants to make double their money.

Seems like Fox is moving past that need for money, and is going back to producing good movies, that'll make money because they are actually good.

I mean honestly....they cant do Deadpool PG-13. He just wouldnt work. He's too out there. He does some really insane things.

He's not a character kids can look up to....the movie should be just like Kick-Ass.

If they budget it like Blade then maybe, it depends if they feel Deadpool can be reconfigured to a bigger audience as he has a col look kids will dig.

Well, lets hope not. I dont want Deadpool happy meal toys. That's why Wolverine was so godawful. They made Wolverine a wimp. Even in comparison to the other X-flicks.

Deadpool should have a budget of $40 million or so. Nothing too big so the studio won't interfere. You could so anything you want and won't have to worry too much about the comercial prospects.

^ Pretty much. And it's not like Deadpool faces any grand scale villians.....except the Messiah....which I highly doubt they'll do for the first movie....LL&L, all that hoopla. Plus Captain America is in it too...

Point is, Deadpool's gonna be PG-13. There have been movies that have been just as violent as R while still PG-13, like, as you said, Casino Royale. By admitting there are movies that are still very violent while PG-13 contradicts your whole argument against it.

I might be grasping here, but I'll do that... I think FOX showed their intent with Deadpool when they reach out to Rodriguez, who has for the most part directed R rated films. They also got two writers who got the job off an R rated movie and they have Ryan Reynolds... Who wants an R rated movie.

To me it seems it's going to be R...

Yeah, maybe if this was getting a Summer release it would be PG-13. But, I strongly doubt that.

Hey look at Predators it was R still made over 100 mill on an smallish budget of 40 mill and an R rating
But I think you still could make a good PG13 Deadpool movie

Well 1. You dont know that. If Fox didnt give a **** about the film, they wouldnt hire the Zombieland guys to write, with Ryan's assistance, they wouldnt give it to Robert if they didnt want it done right (And look at Machete...distributed by Fox...and it's HARD R.)

And 2. If Deadpool was like Casino Royale, it would suck. Yes Casino was pretty gritty and violent...but it was mostly intense action. Deadpool has over the top sword play, beheadings....

Have you even read any Deadpool comics? The comics themselves are even censored...lol. He aint a PG-13 character. And that, is a stone cold fact.

Now could a PG-13 Deadpool work? You know what...no. No it could not. The character is just not for kids. Ryan knows this, Robert knows this, the Zombieland guys know this. Fox isnt the same any more. If they were, Predators would be PG-13....and probably written by Shane Salarno, Machete would not be a part of Fox's line up, and we would continue to get ******** every year.....

But they've changed. For the better. I hope anyways.

Watch the whole video.

It's going to be PG-13.

Your argument is invalid.

The only way to describe your need of PG 13 is like this SpiderByte =

and unless someone involved in the movie comes out and say's it's PG-13... In my eyes it's not. Why? Because they've said it's going to be close to the comics... and if you say the comic isn't violent. Go eat a pineapple.
Why you want Deadpool on a leash, is beyond me. I can't get my head around it.
Most of the "PG-13" stuff, only works because it's in a comic, they can draw before or after the action has happend... You can't do that in a movie. You have to follow through. You can't bleep out F bombs... that's just ****ing lame. What is it with the name DEADPOOL, that say's PG-13 to you? Do you think The Punisher should be PG-13 too?

They DID say it was going to be PG-13. Check out the vid.

I'm not saying there's a need for it to be, I'm saying that is what they said is going to happen. I'm saying that it's not the end of the world. I'm not saying it should be PG-13, I'm saying it will be PG-13.

SpiderByte, there is absolutely no evidence from anyone anywhere that says the film will be PG-13. There is, however, slight evidence that suggests the film may be R-Rated.

But, at the end of the day the film hasn't even begun shooting. So, arguing either way is rather stupid.
