Sequels Deadpool Spin-off Confirmed

Blade got three movies out of an R-rated structure, and the character wasn't (or isn't, really) a household name. At least Deadpool has a strong fanbase, Ryan Reynold's relative star power, and the Wolverine movie under its belt to draw in fans. Hopefully that'll be enough to give Deadpool some steam.

I can still see them pulling off a successful Deadpool film with a PG-13 rating. Especially with the creative team involved with it.

I think that fake poster was well done for a fan. Whoever made that deserves cred!

That's true. Their are some pretty violent moments in recent Deadpool comics, but I wouldn't say they'd be R.

This film could go either way, but I'm leaning to a PG-13 rating. t:

I wonder if they're going to take the Hero route with Deadpool in the films or not. I'd actually like to see that.

Yes, but it would give so much liberty for him. He could go all-out crazy with no restrictions.

I'm not talking just about that, but also language. They censor it in the comics, and with the violence, it's a comic. It's drawn, so that will cut it back even more. In it's essence Deadpool is a comic for adults. (and now he's even getting his own MAX series) Just like Wolverine, and I think we all know what a ***** he's been in the movies. Let's not do the same with Deadpool. For Deadpool to be Deadpool, R Rating... IMO.

They could still get around that, by actually censoring when he drops F bombs and what not. I think it'd actually be more funny that way, but that's just me. I could see it getting on people's nerves, though. They can drop a lot of language in PG-13 movies anyways.

There's a load of stuff that's R rated other than gore. For Deadpool to make about half of his adult jokes, he needs that extra edge.

Yep. I dont know why anyone would want a PG-13 Deadpool....perhaps the same morons who wanted a PG-13 Terminator movie, and AvP movie.

I think even for a PG-13 movie, you could get away with a lot, and that would also help to ground the movie without having to force it to play up to being an R-rated movie. Sometimes that freedom will go to someone's head, and they'll start dropping f bombs in every other second just because they can. So maybe a PG-13 rating wouldn't be so bad, because the writers would have to use more than that gimmick to get people to understand and like Deadpool as a character, and we would still get a great deal of jokes and action for that rating.

This is the guy who cut out someone's organs and held them for ransom. Some one who chopps off people's heads, and limbs just for fun. He needs the freedom. Plus, Deadpool aint a kids comic. Most of the fans are over 17 anyway.

I wouldn't mind DP being a relucant hero in this movie. In the comics, he's an on again/off again hero, but as far as we know there's not going to be any other heroes in the movie's world... sadly, no DP vs Hulk or DP vs Wolverine (even though that one can actually happen >:- ( ).
