Yeah I think so too. I wouldnt mind one without Reynolds, but I think one of the reasons its getting made first place is that Reynolds pushed for it. I doubt it would come out unless someone with equal or greater status than Reynolds wants to sign on

Lauren Donner on Deadpool:

Ryan is so committed to being Deadpool. He is Wade Wilson. Well, no, he’s Deadpool. He is so committed to it that he worked with the writers on the script. Even though he’s doing Green Lantern, he’s stayed involved in that project. It’s very different. It’s like Harrison Ford doing Star Wars and Indiana Jones. DC and Marvel are different universes with different movies. But sure, the more popular and well known he is the better.I’m hoping we’ll get it off the ground next year."

I saw this on CBM today, I swear I remember reading this before though.

Donner's a good saleswoman, but still a saleswoman.

It's not the same as Ford doing Indana Jones and Star Wars because umm . . . that had George Lucas working on both of them. Lucasfilm did both franchises

Yeah, that'd be more like Stallone be Rocky & Rambo, despite those two series never being made close to each other. Besides, the latest movies but Stallone made those himself.

I'm waiting to hear from Ryan, who would really be the person's voice who could put this whole debate to rest, before assuming anything. I mean, even for Wolverine press, Ryan was passively vocal about his character being shafted, so Deadpool obviously means a lot to him, given the fact that he's rallied to be the character for several years now.

Yeah, it'd be nice to hear him say something about Deadpool. Hopefully next time he gets an interview they'll ask him about it. I'd like to hear what he has to say about this. :woot:

I hope this is Rodriguez/Reynolds news.

But he's a *****er, so I'm taking this with a grain of salt.

If you keep reading older posts on his twitter he rags Reynolds for picking Safehouse over DP. He's obviously not in the loop as much as one might think.

Which is why everything he says is ******** until someone else can confirm it.

Plus he cant draw for ****. :o

Rodriguez spoke to Deadline:

Reynolds also wants to star in the Wolverine spinoff film Deadpool--Fox hopes Robert Rodriguez will direct it--but that actor's busy schedule--he just signed to star with Denzel Washington early next year in Safe House--has made the Deadpool directing situation a bit murky. Just spoke with Rodriguez. He has read and likes the Deadpool script, but his own schedule--promoting Machete and then directing Spy Kids 4--has made his participation tenuous. "We haven't really gotten into the discussion, but they are trying to make a certain small window that's going to be tough because of Spy Kids," Rodriguez told me. "If they push it back, it would be a lot better for me."

i think it is BS does fox actually think Reynolds will have time to do deadpool anytime soon just push it back Reynolds has the following movies on his plate :

Safe House
R.I.P.D.
The Change Up
Most Wanted
MotorCade
GunSmoke

I dont think Gunsmoke and Motorcade are happening anytime soon. Changeup shoots this year and Safehouse early next year. RIPD doesnt have a director yet. I think Reynolds wants to do it and I believe itll probably happen after Safehouse films.

Ryan Reynolds on Green Lantern and Deadpool:

Total Film caught up with Reynolds a couple of weeks after Comic Con and asked him how he is feeling now that he is finished shooting Martin Campell's Green lantern adaptation..

"I just wrapped Green lantern 2 days ago. Right now I'm focusing on getting a bit of sleep, I'm not really thinking about work right now"

Reynolds wasn't too knackered to talk up both Lantern, and his next foray into the comic book movie world, Deadpool. He mentions a few things we have already heard(likens the film to Star Wars, and Hal Jordon to Han Solo etc), but when he is asked if Guy Gardener will appear in the movie..

"That remains to be seen! Someone from WB will assinate a member of my family if I reveal those details"

After a rest, its assumed that Reynolds will once again play Wade Wilson in a solo outing for The Merc With A mouth, Deadpool. Nothing is concrete however. Although Reynolds certainly seems enthusiastic about the film and Robert Rodrieguez has said he would like to direct, nothing is official yet. Even so, from the way Reynolds talks it looks like a safe bet that this will happen at some point..

"Deadpool is not a superhero movie, its a deconstruction of superhero movies so to come off Green Lantern and have the opportunity to do a movie like Deadpool is great in every way possible"

Asked whether Deadpool will "break the fourth wall(address the audience directly) as he does so often in the comics..

"The fourth wall is broken many times in the movie and its important that we do so. I can't emphasise enough how closely the tone of the comic is being followed. But its a nasty piece of work and thats whats important"

So, will this Deadpool be the same creature we saw lose his head at the end of Wolverine? And if so, how will he crack wise without a gob?

"The two movies have absolutely no connection at all thats how! The script is going to be a little harder than the comic. If you were going to assign a rating, the comics would be PG13, the script right now is walking a tightrope between that and an R rating"

So it sounds like it's going to be a hard PG-13. Possibly R if Fox will let them. :woot:

We definitely need Robert on-board now that the script is a R. I'd like to keep it that way.

Want...so Much want...:csad:
