bwhahahahahahahahha!

^ You dont think Wade is hip with the times dawg? He's down like a clown ya'll.

I actually ran into a group of Deadpool cosplayers at Dragon Con. They were pretty funny and cool. They said "How many chimichangas can you eat?" I was like "Uhhh...three" Ladypool said to me "You FAIL!!!" or something around those lines.

But they said I could be an honorary member because of my Deadpool shirt :P

Where is Wade from? ive been told Canada, and then ive read America

I'd go with Canada, just because most of Team X was comprised of Canucks, and I'm too lazy to Wikipedia that shiz

If I'm right. He was born in Canada, but his parents were American. I think his dad was an officer in the US Military.

So Liefeld continues to state full steam ahead, however R.I.P.D. just hires a director and essentially takes Reynolds only open slot to film a movie in the near future.
Do we actually consider the fact Fox may be looking at other actors for the part or that it could be dead in the water? I would really like to see this movie happen in some form even without Reynolds(althouhg he would be ideal)

I hope that isn't the case, though it is sounding a lot like the behind the scenes drama that happened with The Punisher, where Thomas Jane really looked forward to doing the sequel, but got jerked around until he left the project. I really don't want to see anything like that happen with Deadpool, because Reynolds is very passionate about the character and deserves to play him in true form, considering he's been campaigning to play the character for the better part of the decade and only got to play the X-Men Origins version of the character.

It is weird RR is doing R.I.P.D. instead of doing the Deadpool movie. Would like to hear something about Deadpool right about now...

Maybe they will work with the schedules. Micheal J. Fox filmed Back to the Future while he was still shooting for a T.V. show

Ryan Reynolds on Deadpool:

“It goes in such a different direction than a superhero movie usually goes. It’s a nasty piece of work. It’s just based in so much emotional filth, completely. It’s like ‘Barfly‘ if it were a superhero movie. It sort of treads into the world of an emotionally damaged person. I always say that Deadpool is a guy in a highly militarized shame spiral…. It’s so different than the superhero movies to date, it departs so far from that.”
“With Deadpool, it’s a lot like going to prison for the first day,” Reynolds said. “You got to walk up and hit the biggest guy you see to establish a bit of cred. With Deadpool, early on you have to establish that moral flexibility. There’s a gamble to it — you’re going to lose a few people right at the beginning but you take the gamble and know that eventually you’re going to win them back. You won’t lose the hard-core fans of the character, they already know who he is. We have to play to a broader audience than that. As an actor you have to be willing to do something like … back in Vancouver we used to call it a [nasty] burger. ’You gotta eat the [nasty] burger to get to the cookies.’ And yes, I want to write a cookbook about that…”

“The comics are very inconsistent in the writing,” Reynolds said. “All the different writers, different voices, but at the core of the character his heart is really interesting. He’s the funniest guy you’ll ever meet, too, and for me that’s exciting but it’s not as hard as capturing that moral flexibility, which is so important. He hasn’t really experienced the full spectrum of human emotion the way most people do.”

Why do you do these things to me?! When he talks about the character like that, it makes me want him to play the role more and more. I hope that all the starts will align so that after he's done shooting what's next on the agenda, he'll be free up to do Deadpool. Robert Rodriguez be damned, the ball needs to start rolling before this thing is not only dead in the water, but it starts to attract the flies.

Here's to all of us, hopefulls, that he'll do the right thing. :dpl:

If he doesn't have time for it, at least delay it a bit. I don't care how long it takes.

I'd rather wait for Reynolds to do it, than let them recast the role to some guy for a quick buck. He understands the character and he's commited to it. That's all that matters and I'd be damned if WB tries to ruin this project.

Let Rodriguez do his thing, let Reynolds do his. This thing needs to happen with all the right conditions. Let us endure until we get what we want!

Interesting. I bet all the while these rumors have been floating around the net that he will drop out, he has been sitting there going "WTF are they talking about?".

Good to see the script focuses on the more psychological side of the character and not just the action side.

Yeah, It's so good to see that Reynolds really knows where Deadpool is coming from and what appeals about him. If anyone could do it, it would be him.

So with Robert Rodriguez possibly not being able to direct Deadpool...I have a suggestion of who we should be campaigning for next...James Gunn!!

his violent costumed-hero comedy Super is getting serious film festival buzz and comparisons to Kick-Ass...below is a clip

Problem with Gunn is that he doesn't really like to compromise and you guys know Fox...

Ellen Page is great in that clip. She's really shaping up to be one of Hollywood's best current actresses.

It'd be funny if James Gunn did direct Deadpool and held a reality show a la Scream Queens* to find the next guy to play Deadpool. :p

*Because James Gun WAS involved with Scream Queens.
