Deadpool & Wolverine Deadpool & Wolverine News and General Discussion Thread

Loved it, I was very concerned with Disney acquiring Deadpool and MCU-ing him like they did with Spidey but this still pretty much feels like it's very Ryan driven from the humor to the choreography. The costume looks real and not plastic like it does with Spidey or even Daredevil's did in She Hulk (DD costume looked great in Echo).

I personally think that's the way moving forward give each movie/show its own personality and make it seetve the character. You can still have a cohesive long term narrative even if the individual movies have different tones.

So far so good.

Yes, relieved to see no obvious strong evidence of Disneyfication of this, it feels in line with the previous films.

Even though this would have been literally impossible to do in this day and age…imagine if we didnt know Hugh’s Wolverine was in this until this trailer reveal? That would have broke the internet.

I mean, tell that to Reynolds....

Its also impossible to hide a major costar.

This is going to be some goodness. I haven't had my hoped up for an MCU movie in a long time. I feel like the Teaser showed Deadpool will be Deadpool. The TVA as villain is not exciting but I don't think the villain is going to matter so much for this.

I'm pretty sure the TVA aren't the villains. I think this is supposed to be the post Loki season 2 TVA.

A much more restrained teaser than I was expecting, but that actually tells me they might be confident in this movie. I was going in ready to be annoyed by too much nostalgia bait, but seeing the Deadpool cast and Aaron Stanford was great. Also loved that shot of Wolverine in his white Patch suit. Plus, it's lovely to see the TVA again.

I just hope they can work in the TVA stuff without making it feel like they are existing characters/plot from a Disney+ show, we know the general audience doesn't respond particularly well to that. It was a smart decision not to feature Mobius in this. If he's in the final movie it should be a small role.

Anyway, this is looking really good. Could be the next No Way Home. Probably gonna be the last MCU movie to do big numbers for a while, at least until another Avengers comes out.

A funny random thing I saw a lot of different speculation about: Is the snowy forest we see actually
- A different part of the Void we haven't seen yet
- The forest from the beginning of Age of Ultron
- The forest from the end of Logan
- The forest from X-Men: The Last Stand
- Just some random regular old forest.

Loved the shot of Logan in a white tux, even if it was just from the back.
Logan? That's Patch

I don't think the TVA is the villain. I believe the rumored actual villain may be briefly seen from the back around the 1:17 mark.

I did not realise that was Pyro until I came into this thread :wow:. I used to be a huge fan back in the X2 days.

I’m surprised at how restrained that trailer was. I was sure the trailer would end with a full look at Wolverine/maybe even a quip but they kept him hidden despite the title. I would love it if they keep up this restraint with the rest of the marketing and not spoil all the cameos. With this teaser, even a little bit of Wolverine should be enough for the second trailer so that way they can have lots of other stuff for the movie itself.

Thank goodness for these boards; I didn’t even clock that as Pyro when I watched.
I had no clue until someone posted a side by side pic. It's crazy how fast the years go by, and how quickly people age. Not That he looks old, of course! Regardless, it's so cool to see him back.

This movie is gonna own the box office this year. calling it now.

Looks like the perfect adrenaline shot the MCU has been in desperate need of.
I mean, Guardians 3 wasn't that long ago.

I know the joke is popular of 'No, this product will save the MCU,' but Guardians 3, despite taking place between a sea of mediocre products in 2023, was still a great emotional film on its own.

Don't get me wrong, Vol 3 was great, but it was more of a standalone installment.
There hasn't been like a big "overarching MCU movie" in quite a while.

I hope we see the X-Men's original cast like Marsden, Halle and Famke!
They will keep it secret. Like Tobey & Garfield in NWH or Reed and Boltagon in MOTM

Now, 2 possibilities :
Either Toad Sabretooth Pyro and Wolverine are from Fox world (new timeline, between Dark Phoenix and DOFP ending. because old timeline, Toad and Sabretooth are dead in X1)
Or they are from MCU multiverse. In short, another earth as well as Xavier earth838 or Beast/Binary earth

Yeah in terms of movies that drive the whole multiverse/Kang meta plot, so far we've just had...

1. No Way Home, which was only connected to the multiverse by random happenstance (apparently it was supposed to come out after MoM and be more connected, but unfortunately that didn't happen)

2. Multiverse of Madness, which set up the idea of an incursion.

3. Quantumania, which featured a Kang variant as the villain and set up the council of Kangs

4. The Marvels, which continued to develop the idea of an incursion by using the bangles to create rifts in the multiverse, which left one of the characters stranded in another universe.

Only NWH was a big success, but that mainly just established the existence of the multiverse and was otherwise unconnected to a broader meta narrative. MoM was a decent success, but it just provided some initial set up. Plus both of those films released years ago.

After that the two movies to most prominently tie into the multiverse/Kang meta arc both flopped. So DP&W could be the first time a lot of movie goers actually realize what's even going on with the Multiverse Saga.

Deadpool 3 would make sense if only this was a foX movie but its a Marvel Studios film.

Thanks to MCU we can have Deadpool alongside x-men from modern days
If mutants and F4's rights didnt go back to Disney, not sure they will bring us x-men of the present day in DP3
20th CenturyFox never expected to make a Deadpool movie with x-men team

I also wonder how Loki's new TVA factors into this
I guess Loki taking control hasn't prevented incursions from happening?

And yeah seeing Pyro was cool... so tricky Stanford, I just read an interview with him the other day, and he played it off very well with the whole "I'd love to if they figured out a good role for me" thing

Lol and I laughed at that interview too. Now who's laughing

The uniforms being different made me think they are the whole new TVA. The whole TVA won't be a villain, likely a separate villain and the TVA fight scenes maybe very early in the movie.
