Deadpool & Wolverine Deadpool & Wolverine News and General Discussion Thread

This was a damn blast, honestly. Not perfect, but the most fun I've had at the theater this year. Hugh, once again, proved why nobody can replace him. And those cameos, especially one in particular, had my theater going nuts!

This is why I feel forced to watch movies on opening day even when I don't want to. Its literally impossible to avoid spoilers. Even mainstream media will put it on the front page.
Just clicking on You Tube will literally spoil every cameo or ending without even having to watch the video, I know its click-bait to grab attention but damn some channels have no shame, its still the first weekend!! So glad I made the decision to see this on the opening preview night.

It's nice to see Hugh back but he did look very haggard at times in the close-ups! I heard one of the people next to me remark 'God, he looks so old now'... He's only 55.

I don't know, he looked fine to me for being 55, especially in interviews. And him looking haggard works for this version of Wolverine who's angry and bitter 95% of the time.

Comments like those come across as really insulting.

I just realized.

Had this movie been made similarly at all to The Flush...we probably would've had a sequence at the end where the multiverse is starting to fracture while a CGI Bob Hoskins is standing still just looking at it.

And I'm just so glad we got what we got.

Instead, I'm glad we got a montage scene with the Danny Devito-looking Wolverine with is comic accurate height.

Shortverine is a bad cgi like Modok...

I don't know if they made him 5'3 (his height in the comics) but 5'3 doesn't look that bad in person/camera.

I quite enjoyed the movie overall. There are certainly some wobbly story points (Deadpool's recruitment by the TVA, universe timelines, etc) but overall I had a really fun time with the movie. Action was top notch, cameos were fantastic (even if SDCC spoiled a chunk of the big ones), and Hugh F'in Jackman.

Some of the jokes felt dirty for the sake of being dirty, as opposed to being funny. I know it's Deadpool, but I prefer more quick witted humour like the diner scene from the trailers (eating with the mask off joke).

I have no idea how in the UK the film is rated at 15 and not 18 with the amount of gore and profanity it had.

I absolutely loved it. The most fun theater experience I've had in a long time and the most fun I've had with a Marvel movie since the Last Avengers other than Spiderman No Way Home.

That explains the number of kids in my screening, lol. But they all seemed to love it. Some of the rapid-fire quipping went over people's heads though, judging from the occasional absence of laughter...
