I am so tired of people saying comic book films all need to be made for a child audience or for the family experience. These are the people who took there kids to see watchmen and then demanded there money back because there child saw some **** and a blue penis. Um its rated R for a reason why would you bring your kids. When deadpool comes out here is all you have to do. Leave the kids with your mom, shes right upstairs washing your clothes im sure she would love to watch them and then enjoy the movie. So please stop pestering every one about a kid friendly Deadpool. If you want to see Deadpool kill an @$$load of people and getting his limbs cut off and regrowing them then its gotta be R. Why do you think we didnt see that in XO-Wolverine, PG-13 thats why. Hell in X2 when wolverine stabs the soldier through the chest in the kitchen they had to cut away to bobby for a split second just because that extra second of logan screaming would have made it R Rated.
But if any one can put up a good argument how Deadpool would be better rated PG-13 then R im sure all of us would like to here it.
One last thing, Yes i know that because of the powers that be Deadpool will probly be PG-13 so they can rake in some more green but im asking you how it should be not how it will be :bomb:

X2 had that sick Wolverine rampage and it was rated PG13. Die Hard 4.0 got away with alot of violence for a PG13 movie

2) There a studio and they want money and there is nothing wrong with that because they are a business. Look at the last 2-3 years, the biggest movies are PG13. THe last blockbuster that made al ton of money that was R was 300 and that was mostly because it was hyped up big on the net.

The upcoming District 9 might change that, I hear its rated R and it looks like it could make alot of money.

R is not going to magically make the film better. If XOW had the same script and then they added a few curse words and blood it wouldnt have made the movie better.

As long as the script is good and they're some bad ass fight scenes than I dont care if its rated R

Deadpool wont be targeted for kids...

Its about a guy who kills people for money. How the hell can that be a PG-13?

--

Sorry i should explain this more.

The studio look at how much they can market it. X-Men francise had a close tie in with mercandising especially when it came to the X-Men Origins Wolverine movie. It had to be a PG-13. - The reason it was rated low is that the movie is considered to have a moral story. That which can appeal to kids. same with the x-men movies which teach tolerence.

But Deadpool wont be the same...

Consider Deadpool as a movie that will be rated exactly the same as Blade...

A good example is really go see Blade Trinity... to which Ryan Renolds played a comical character verson of Hannible King. Consider that the example to which the movies will move towards.

It wont be PG-13 even if he breaks the third wall.

yes r will give us a much more true Deadpool experience. Deadpools only ability is his Healing factor that puts Wolverines to shame so this is one movie that has to have blood and amputations. it shouldnt be gorey but it should be pretty graphic also Deadpool uses a sword he cant go through the whole thing just stabbing with it in the end someones going to have to lose an arm. See i think graphic wise along the lines of Kill Bill would be perfect. but Deadpool should be Rated R. By the way Blackman you didnt give much more reason then Fox wanting more money i was asking how PG-13 is going to make it better.
Also XO-Wolverine would have ben better R did you play the game the cinimatics wer beautifull and very violent and true to character if it was rated R we could really see Wolvie cut loose. There is blood and guts in the comicsso i dont think im asking to much. Dont get me wrong i get why they do what they do and wolverine is still fine for PG13 but Deadpool is just more violent.

And yet, TDK, though probably pushing the limit, was still rated PG-13. What I'm saying is that just because a movie features lots of violence and bloodshed, it doesn't automatically need to go for R-rating. Nowadays, movies can get away with a lot of things at PG-13. Is it worth losing all those viewers? And for what gain?

Personally, I think it depends on the tone of the movie. For instance, if it's more comedic, then R is the way to go with them having the violence, blood and gore be absolutely over the top. If they want a more serious, less bizarre movie, then PG-13 works.

i dont see marvel wanted to make action figures of Deadpool for kids, so i think it will be a R rted

There are Deadpool action figures at stores.

During the big end battle of X3 the Last Stand....Wolverine repeatedly cut off the arms of a mutant who quickly grew them back....and it was PG-13.

I thought Daredevil was better Rated R, Blade was rated R. I can't see them making Deadpool pg13, especially with Ryan Reynolds so involved. Deadpool strikes me as the character that would say **** more than once in a movie.

Yeah but that didn't involve any blood, and he technically wasn't cutting anything off because the guy was like Clayface or some such. So it wasn't that graphic in the fantasy sense. Anytime Wolverine would do something violent it would cut away and not show damage done to non limb growing mutants.

blood isnt needed to make the movie good

Reminds me of the Monty Pythin skit...What if Sam Peckinpah made the Great Gatsby.

I completely agree. I was just saying that is why it was allowed for X3. I hate blood for the sake of blood. I do think to expect a Deadpool movie to be lacking on some gore factor is a little much. I mean his facial appearance is enough to scare the crap out of kids, then again so was Harvey Two Face. Essentially though It would be like Freddy Kruger. I'm not really a person to complain about ratings. If they can keep Deadpools character true and make it pg13, more power to them.

You guys are whining about the rating already? :facepalm:facepalm:facepalm

The action figures are for the wolverine movie which was targeted for PG13, There are aksi deadpool figures made by Toybiz but its purely on a collectable status. Plus the comic book action is really governed that strongly by the PG rating even for an R rated comic.

If deadpool is made like Blade was made then i doubt we will see action figures.

Maybe maybe not, Deadpool should be handled in its release like Watchmen. DOn't give it a summer rlease give it a March April release where it can be LOVED by its fanbase then send that sucker to DVD. Thats if they wanna make a good R rated deadpool movie.

I agree. Punisher came out the second or third weekend in April in 04, and between that and Kill Bill 2 the weekend was huge. I remember doing press for my theater involving the release of Punisher and half the people I talked to said they'd prefer a Deadpool movie. I think it's safe to say that an April release of Deadpool would be pretty fitting.

I always thought it would be clever to release a comic movie in the winter, wouldn't it help with selling merchandise like toys, clothes, video games and board game during christmas.
