While The Matrix franchise started off in 1999 and ended awhile back in 2003, these are films that are still great to talk about.

Feel free to post your theories, opinions, thoughts, questions and anything else about the films here.

(I apologize if a thread about these movies was made awhile back...)

Be ready to get a lot of hate for Reloaded and Revolutions.

Me? I love the 3 of them like you wouldn't believe.

I'd like to start this discussion by saying how UTTERLY BADASS Captain Mifune was

^I agree. Reloaded and Revolutions were not as good as the first. However, I still enjoyed the trilogy as a whole.

The Animatrix was so fricking cool imo. The only story I didn't like was the one with the runner.

More or less the Matrix films let us know that Jesus has returned. He has returned and now he knows kung-fu. Who would have guess God had a sense of humor? The second coming will be led by none other than Ted. Bill will more than likely become the next Judas. For all is well my brothers. Praise in the name of our Lord, Keanu Reeves.

Reloaded was awful. The pacing in it wsa horrid. 20 minute of talking, 20 minute of fighting, rinse and repeat. Revolutions on the other hand is one of the most under-rated films ever, IMHO, and was at least as good as the first one.

here comes the hate......

bad idea to make a mtrix thread here.everyone hates the sequels for some reason.

the trilogy is a classic right in my top 10 or 20.... i have no reason why it wouldnt overwise

but the thing with the wachowskys is they know how to write dialog.... and i find it just as compelling as the fighting... you really have to think.

wachowskys are gods... V For Vendetta solidified it

My problem wasnt the dialouge, it was the fighting. Yes, the scenes are cool, but watching kung fu for 20 minutes straight bores the hell out of me. Even kung fu movies dont do that. If they had just found a way to intercut some of the fights with the dialouge, I would have been happy with it.

I loved animatrix. 2 and 3 are some great movie trapped behind some weird execution. I point to the famous or infamous "orgy scene" in reloaded as an example of what I mean.

Lets not forget the epic scene where they talked about generators for 30 minutes.

I actually really liked that scene. It did show that they were still dependent on machines, and how they live with that hypocrisy.

I wouldve liked the scene if Neo ***** slapped the old dude.

no complaints here

Matrix sequels. Since the discovery of their existence they have been regarded with fear, suspicion, often hatred. Across the planet, debate rages.

i actually loved that one......... it showed that people could awaken themselves.

the only one i didnt like was the one by the guy who did Rugrats...... i found that one a bit too wierd for me.

I liked the animatrix alot too...and the one by Cheung was awesome ...although my favorite one was A Detective Story :o

Hey my username says it all doesn't :D

GREATEST TRILOGY EVER !!!!
Strange thing tough. Yesterday i was posting on the matrix board i've been a memeber of since 2003 and have been visiting since 2000 and i was thinking back about the good old days when the sequels were just announced and there were rumors galore .

Stuff that made you , at least , just laugh out loud. But back in those days we were trying to believe anything.
And i can't help but feel that magazines joined into the hype and actually gave us bogus info.

TOTALFILM , UK film magazine , said about the fight between neo and the twins with double egded swords.
EMPIRE MAGAZINE , very very respected film magazine , said about a fight between multiple neos and smiths.

Matrix was badass, reloaded wasn't great at all, and revolutions was awesome....-seriously underrated...

The Matrix - amazing and not usual action movie, good script and fantastic vissual effects

The Matrix Reloaded - very very big disappointment, unreal (of course in bad meaning) vissual effects and bad script :down

The Matrix Revolutions - worser than 2nd movie, crappy and terrible movie :down

Actually, some Hong Kong kung fu movies do have some very long fights, between the 15-20 mins. range...
