Ditto.

I was Blown Away with this version of the Joker and it actually was BETTER than Nicholson's at least visually.

The fake nose drives me nuts. Nothing so ridiculous for TDK, I think.

I really enjoyed the Patient J joker interpretation.
To me it seemed like a very faithful 3d trasition from the Hamil/Timm creation.
(My only gripe being a Freelance DP and a short film director myself, is the video quality on these fan films...they really have to spring for a HD rental camera or at least a 24p Xl-1 or Panasonic.Of course there is always film but that requires more moola...)

I personally want something a little bit different. I think we are gonna see the joker a lot less than we think we are , therefore making his appearence and lines carry more weight.

I recently rewatched A Clockwork Orange, which besides being my favorite film of all time, is a clue said by ledger on how he may play this character. I think people need to watch this film again and see how brilliant ledger(and nolan) are for thinking of portraying the joker like Alex from A Clockwork Orange.

Obviously, we still need to see if this stuff comes to pass, but Alex is an protagonist who does evil and heinous acts not unlike the joker. He is funny, and charismatic(one of the first "rock star" villians of cinema: Evil characters you want to be) and has one hell of an evil stare and smile.
This is what I want to see in TDK....
With white face, green hair, and purple/black suit of course.

Owen or Law will be Dent...Heed the warning

Mark Hamill will always be the definitive Joker in cartoon form.

The Joker in comic-form I'd say would be Alan Moore's.

As for film I liked Nicholson's Joker but I agree now watching the film the man was so punctual and so charming that you didn't feel like hating him but liking him and laughing with him. I also hate it when he busts out Prince's music. *Bleck!*

But Nicholson's Joker did have it's moments.

We'll see how Ledger lives up but I'd say Hamill's Joker is the best.

I do have a soft-spot however for Michael McKean's Joker on "BTAS" who was spoofing Romero's Joker.

I hate "Bat in the Sun" Joker with a passion. It is so blatantly slap-in-the-face fake.

That is just my opinion. Not slamming anyone who likes that version... I personally just can't stomach it.

The one good thing about TDK that I must say, is the fact that it made me aware of the joker's first appearnce. I never read this story before nor did I even know that joker had not 1 but 2 stories in batman#1!

Like many of us, I grew up loving joker stories like the killing joke, death in the family(lets see them do someting like this today!Joker and terrorists!)and Arkham Asylum, but never gave his first appearence any weight. I finally bought TG joker stories TPB and was not dissappointed. I could definetly see where this cold, more sinister, and filled out joker thirsting for revenge and money would fit in the nolanverse.

Watch A Clockwork Orange tonight. all of you if you havent done so already(i think many of you already have). I thinks that's the joker we will be seeing and the new joker for the next 10 years.

In Nolan We Trust

Owen or Law will be Dent......wait for it.....

I dunno......maybe the version of the Joker we got from THE MAN WHO LAUGHS would work for me.

The Killing Joke was something unique, I think, that if used completely....might not. They should defintely use many aspects of the Joker we got in there, though. That's for sure. I'm pretty sure I even read that TKJ is one of the basis for the Joker we're going to get.

That wasn't a spoof of Romero, it was a tribute to the 50's-60's Batman comics as drawn by Dick Sprang.

I need to read the Man Who Laughs like yesterday!

All I hear is good stuff about it. Don't know if I should give 40 bucks on ebay to it......

And the major comic store in my neighborhood, Midtown Comics doesnt have any copies.....sheeesh! what's a joker fan to do?

Owen or Law will be Dent.....wait for the fall-out......

the original joker and arkham asylum joker is the definitive joker IMO. the killing joke too, but no origin story or atleast something that would make the audience say , " ahhh poor joker ". or pretty much what mulligaN Stew said.

HOLY. CRAP.

Of course we can't have a name actor in the role, but damn, Brad Pitt would've been an awesome Joker. He's the right age, the right height, the right build, has taken on a lot of physical roles, doesn't have an Australian accent, can play creepy and demented (12 Monkeys, Fight Club), and can even play around his voice so it sounds creepy/wacko. And he's a talented actor. Fight Club's bar of soap = Smilex. :D

If Brad Pitt wasn't as famous as he is, he'd be my #1 choice!

If he wasn't so famous, he would've been my pick for Harvey Dent.

I really like the killing Joke , Grant Morrisons Arkham Asylums version and the Joker from Burtons Batman . I'm really interested to see what Heath will do with the role . Did Heath or Chris Nolan mention the Clockwork orange as a sort of reference point ? cool .

I've always liked the way that Joker looks. It's very evil, very menacing, and very comic-accurate.

There's nothing wrong with a fake nose, AS LONG as it is handled REALISTICALLY. That is to say, if the nose is impossibly large and funky, then, no. But if it's just big and angular in a way that is beyond what is considered normal, but not beyond what is humanly possible... then I say rawk on.

Okay, an example: Adrien Brody's nose is MUCH larger and more angular than a normal person's. But it's real.

i haven't read arkham asylm yet, but that with standing b:tas joker IS the joker hands down. esspicialy in "joker fish"

That episode, actually entitled "The Laughing Fish" was based on one of the classic comics.

Didn't it also share some aspects with the classic "The Joker's Five Way Revenge" (I know it featured a similar Shark trap that Batman survived in TAS)

Cus it was done right the first time.

I agree. The very first appearance of The Joker is my definative Joker and it looks like Nolan will use this version as a basis, which for years I have wanted this version. I like " the grim jester" a whole lot more.

Batman Dead End Joker blew chunks

Nicholson was good.

TAS was stunning.
