Days of Future Past Deleted Scenes Thread

Iceman said they already tried but the place is too heavily guarded. The other X-Men weren't aware that she's alive though. They managed to get in because Professor X knows secret tunnels under the mansion and leads Magneto and Iceman through them telepathically.

Was it mentioned that Prof X couldn't track Rogue because she was located inside the Cerebro, the one place where Charles' ability couldn't get to?

Yep. They turned the Cerebro chamber into a high-tech lab. Professor X acknowledges that he and Magneto built it so no telepath can reach it from outside.

After reading that, does it sound like you'd rather have had it in the final film?

That's a great explanation for why the scene had to go. I hope the Rogue fans understand.

Honestly, I think it would have improved the movie. After watching it again yesterday, I realised things got really slow before the third act. An amazing sequence like this would have been good to shake up a little bit. A kid was almost sleeping on the seat in front of me. :funny:

There was also another subplot which was cut happening in the past before/during the rescue mission, so I think it would have been hard to keep everything in the movie. Some things had to go. I still think the movie should have been longer than 130 minutes though.

What was the other dropped subplot?

^You mean Mystique visiting Charles' mansion after the hospital scene. Then it would have led to Mystique destroying Cerebro? I'm glad that it didn't make the final cut.

Raven originally went to the mansion. Charles used Cerebro to locate her but she was already in front of the house. No airport scene. Logan told her about what would happen to her in the future. There was a scene with her and Beast, but that scene with them both in blue form in the floor wasn't in the script (they souldn't have cut this, poor Beast didn't get any real character development in the final movie :oldrazz:). Because that scene between her and Erik in the metro wasn't in the script, she came to the mansion just to know what exactly happened in Paris. Then she would have destroyed Cerebro so Charles couldn't locate her and headed to D.C.

Eugh that sounds terrible, it would have removed so much from Charles trying to use Cerebro and not being mentally strong enough

As for Rogue
That scene continues to sound freaking awesome, but I understand why it had to go. I like that they went there just for her, and that Iceman had tried and failed before, but equally, what a fool for using the old "we tried once, bye Rogue" method haha.

Not sure how Cerebro would have been turned into a lab, it's a big sphere... Think we needed an explanation as to why the Mansion got taken over by Trask, especially as 25 moments indicated it preceded the war. Don't suppose you have any info Rike?

It's also interesting that they bring up Magneto helping build it when they dont mention it in the past (we can assume though).

Also, I guess this is Mystique?

Also, if the Airport scene didnt happen and Cerebro was destroyed, then that kinda stinks cause I like that scene lol. I assumed she left the Mantion and they he found her a 2nd time at the Airport.

Also, hoy-small-fry, I saw your signature.

I know why they made him a "History" teacher in the new future...but I was waiting for Prof. X to say "art" xD

^Yeah, I think that's Mystique when they're all asleep.

So sounds like they dropped an second sub-plot.

We know the room with tv screens were part of reshots.I guess now we know Jennifer lawrence's part in reshoots were scene with magneto and her at airport.

I hope we atleast get all the deleted scenes in the Blu-ray but it seems since a large chunk of it is based around rogues it seems maybe an Extended edition would be better.

Also, any idea about these?

Singers Tweet: “Magneto toys”

I remember those "toys". :pal:
When Magneto and Bobby enter Cerebro, they find Rogue laying on an operating table at the end of the walkway, with wires and sensors over her body, and some doctors around her. "I've been on that slab before. Let me show you how it feels" - Magneto lifts the tools toward the doctors but he stops in the last second. "You should leave" - says Iceman. Haha.

Arrrrg please let there be an alternate cut. I don't just want this sequence as a "what if" deleted scene. I'd love to be able to experience this film with a more fleshed out future sequence. If they're finishing the effects...

So the Rogue sequence includes a line that refers to Magneto helping build Cerebro? That is my number 1 pet peeve fixed right there.

PRAYING for an extended cut now.

Can anyone share that line? I'm hopping it Fixes the First Class "error" or allows us to know when he helped

They both are talking to Bobby in this scene:

XAVIER
She’s gone, Bobby. She’s dead. I
haven’t been able to make a
connection with her in years.
BOBBY
118 Because they’re keeping her in the 118
one place your mind can’t reach.
(a beat) *
She’s in your house, Professor.
She’s in Cerebro.
Xavier slows, putting it together--
XAVIER
We built Cerebro so telepaths could
never access it from outside, so no
one could abuse its powers.

I want that stuff too. Not the Mystique sabotage of Cerebro though!

I can understand why they cut the Rogue rescue scene from the movie - I'm not sure if would have flowed as well (despite the lack of action in the middle of the movie as a result of cutting it).

But we need an Extended Edition with the Rogue stuff put back in!

Hopefully on the Blu-ray. My money is ready!

Oh boy, my money is certainly ready for a bluray release with the theatrical version and then the Rogue Alternate version. ;)

For the mere fact that those scenes extend the future and seem to hold a lot of narrative meat. Not to mention...Rogue.
