Denzel and Antoine Fuqua to ride with The Magnificent Seven

He's ****ing Aquaman, I suspect he'll be all right.

I hate Momoa dropped out. It sounds like he was just a henchman from that description.

Sounds like what happened with Guardians.

Momoa has been very vocal about not wanting to be typecast as grunting henchmen. Huge props to him for sticking with his principals. Sounds like a role that a stunt man could play.

I think 'Bullet to the Head' really affected him.

With Guardians wasn't he suppose to be Drax or was he suppose to be a henchmen in that one too?

He chewed tons of scenery in BTTH. I think it was Khal Drogo that affected him, they kept offering him grunting roles after that.

He was supposed to be Drax. That being said I dont know how similar the Drax he auditioned for fit with the final version

Yeah. I remember reading that somewhere.

After Khal Drogo and Conan it gets kinda boring I bet.

He probably was going to play korath which wasted djimon honsou

Momoa is great on The Red Road... I hope that he brings some of that cocky swagger to the Aquaman role.

Its kinda funny to me though. When he was picked for Aquaman I imagine that the DCCU isnt going to be different from a shirtless barbarian role

It looks like they're following the Peter David comics, so he's a bit more Victarion than Khal Drogo.

Saarsgard has always given out this creepy vibe to him.

Awesome. That's really cool of Horner to have done such a thing, and Fuqua must be a really cool guy to receive such a gift.

Late composer James Horner (who scored Fuqua's Southpaw) wrote the score for The Magnificent Seven, based on the script he read. Fuqua didn't find out until a few days prior to the interview, when Horner's music team called him and brought it to Baton Rouge.

Wow.

Yeah it was suppose to be a surprise gift to Fuqua, AND Horner paid the orchestra team out of pocket.

Sadly, Fuqua will have to hire another composer if he wants to use Horners score since he only based it off on the screenplay. Meaning that another composer/sound design person may have to re-edit some part, or rearrange the composition depending on how Fuqua shot the movie. Or may only USE some of Horners tracks, if the rest doesn't fit the tone of the movie.

Some scores have been cobbled together when the composer passed. Several people who worked with Michael Kamen helped finish the score for Back to Gaya when he passed.

I can easily see Don Davis coming on to help edit and arrange the score to the finished film. And he's orchestrated a lot of Horner's earlier scores, so he could probably compose additional music without being obtrusive.

Well when you're cast as Aquaman, going from that to a grunting henchmen would be a step backwards in your career too. Momoa as Aquaman is a whole other debate though. If he feels like he wants to put these types of roles behind him, then this is his one huge chance to do so. Even though I'm skeptical of the casting, I hope he is able to really shatter any preconceived expectations we might have.
