Despicable Me - The Thread, The Trailer, The..Whatever

Really funny and endearing film that will ultimately go overlooked due to Toy Story, but I loved it none the less.

It opened a lot higher than expected ($56 million) and word-of-mouth is great. It and Toy Story 3 are strangely enough co-existing not unlike Avatar and Sherlock Holmes back in December.

I'm glad to hear that. Ever since Pixar's come on the seen we've seen a lot of companies try to imitate and dethrone them. IMO Despicable Me is the non-Pixar, Pixar film. Its certainly as good as one and stands out in the load of crap that has been non-Pixar animation in recent years.

I'm surprised with the film's success, and then again I'm not. This is an animated family film, and we should never underestimate them.

I'm surprised this is good, I thought it looked bad. I'll check it out on DVD.

I saw it tonight and it was virtually sold out, even for a weeknight, and it was mostly adults in the audience who seemed to be loving it, so it looks like it's going to continue to do very well.

It was absolutely adorable, I loved it.

I really want to see this, CG animation has gotten really good!

I probably won't see it....and not because I don't want to. I just can't afford to see this and Inception.

Holy crap.

I had no idea how low the budget was on this. It looked like it had a much higher budget..

This movie exceeded my expectations. It was adorable. My only complaint was Carell's (Gru's) accent, but after a short time I got over it. The accent was actually pretty funny once I got over myself.

11/10. Great film.

'The Bank of Evil: Formerly Lehman Bros.' got the entire theater cracking up.

Thought the movie was great, it was the perfect mix of sweet and funny. The Minions were awesome, but I thought the best joke was the pyramid behind Vector's lair painted like the sky.

I really really want this on DVD. Such a great movie.

I definitely felt after I watched it that I want to see more of this universe. I really did become attached to Gru, the minions, and the girls.

i loved this movie..... i can't remember the last animated film that made me laugh from start to finish :D

Dude...you said the exact same thing 5 months ago. Haha.

But I gotta say rewatching it at home, I find myself enjoying it so much more than I did when I saw it in the theater.

Every little thing about this movie puts a smile on my face. The minions--from their language to how they always seem to break into a fight with each other, the girls and their humor...even Vector cracks me up even though he didn't before. I love how much of a dork he is and just goes, "Oh yeah!" all the freakin time. :woot:

And whoever said that the movie has a Looney Tunes kind of vibe...I completely agree.

I bought the blu ray and it was definitely worth it .

I love the sequel, the minions really are the stars of this series. Gru is great and so are the three girls. But's the minions that get the audiences laughter the most.

Yeah the sequel was great, I actually prefer it to the first movie, I found it funnier.

This almost killed me. :lmao:
