Oh they can think it will be cheesy. That's not the problem!

''we demand actual quality in our entertainment.''

That's problematic. It's okay to think it will be cheesy but it's wrong to think it'll be good.

Says WHO??? Your opinion is it's GRRREAATTT Tony. Mine is the concept, the action, etc... as we know now is "lame" and "cheesy". Why does my opinion "threaten" you so much? I could say something about it only being threatening to "weak-minded" people... but I won't. *oops... guess I did* :D

When did we say we COULD NOT accept it? Mr. Smuck Dealer??? *Deal* Give me a break and grow up. Just because we have opinions that differ from theirs does not mean we can't accept that it's their opinion. I see most of the NON acceptance coming from the other side... the PRO RAIMI's and their outrage that how dare us be "negative" (In their opinion)... critical (in my opinion).
I guess he means this kind of thing from Symbiotica. A generalisation that anyone who likes what they've seen so far is a Raimi loving idiot...

Just about everyone else is all "...eh... it's Sam and I love Sam, so he can do no wrong. Cast Whoopie Goldberg as Venom?! ZOMG!!!!!!!!!111111oneoneone1111! KEWL!"

That was basically in response to the attack on her to begin with. You attack me, I'll return fire. Same with Sym or anyone else on the board.

But the bigger question IS... WHY does it bother some that Sym or me, are critical of certain aspects of the movie? Why is that SO threatening to them?

It's not like we're trolls that ONLY have negative things to say about the FRANCHISE. Now Sym may not have much positive things to look forward to in SM3, given what they "appear" to have done to one of her favorite characters, and BASED ON THAT... I can see her point. BUT.. SHE HAS NOT BEEN NEGATIVE about the franchise as a whole. Critical? Yes (Thank God).

And because of that, she has my respect. I prefer someone who is critical as opposed to willing to take whatever flavor smoke Raimi and Co. will blow up their ass... as long as it's called "Spider-Man".

I guess that's when the problems start. It's very difficult to keep switching bewteen a serious critique and a tit-for-tat flame war without losing some modicum of respect.

Well, you can think what you want, it's after all "your opinion". But I think the problem lies in "those" that come into threads and claim that they're off subject anyway... and proceed to bash another for posting something that they don't like about a scene, or the movie in general. Bash them for being critical, cause in "their" all knowing opinion... "they" KNOW that it is NOT being critical... IT IS... being negative.

Note - I did not mention "anyone" in particular. ;) :D LOL

I hate hypocrites...

You people don't say that the film will suck for you, you say that the film will simply suck and that we don't need ''quality entertainment'' unlike you, the all-knowing.

That's bullcrap.

Yes... How DARE us state our opinion and REFUSE to include the obligatory IMO  But... ON THE FLIP SIDE... YOU guys can say it's FANNNNtastic... and Never need the IMO. *gotcha down... "deal" boy.

A clue for the clueless (don't look in the mirror)... WHENVER ANYONE posts that the movie, a scene, whatever will be GOOD or... BAD... IT'S THEIR OPINION.... There is no Right and Wrong answer when it comes to (say it with me...) "opinions"

Hypocrisy.

There is no right or wrong answer? Then don't make posts making fun out of the people who wants to see the film.

I never have, even when they attack first. BUT... if they do attack first, I would not BLAME anyone for "attacking" back.

And you need to look up the definition of hypocrisy... since you seem intent on overlooking the blatancy of the abuse of your side of the argument.

Maybe you didn't, but others did. So you can't blame us for ''attacking'' which is basically defending our rights.

Oh and how is it you guys "not naming anyone" duh! ;) have all day to prove your point on these boards, I mean come on it's just post after post after post........

Wait for it......(look down below this post for more examples)

OMG I can't even keep up with this thread. I probablly have stupid ticks on me from walking through the forrest. All I wanted to do was come online and read about SM3, I hoped to come back and read that people were like:

RandomForumer42X: Yeah, CF is right. It's just an opinion. It's not like doc Ock, Slag, or Symbotica were saying the whole movie was bad. They're just saying that the scene, from what we've heard could be much more involved then simply a car cahse caused by Sandy falling apart.

And then they'd be like:

DocSymbotiSlag: Yeah. Exactly. But we weren't saying the movies were bad or that this movie will be bad. We're just saying that we're allowed to state our opinions about what we know. And what we know of this scene, so far isn't the coolest thing ever. Just because Sam Raimi has something in the script doesn't make it awesome.

And then I would have been like:

Chinese Food: Word, Yo-yo. I'm glad we could all read each other's post and not be so quick to fuss. I'm glad we were all equal and fair and listened to each other clamly. No one arguing on. Let's all eat chicken with broccoli....I got chop sticks!!

But that didn't happen.

EDIT: Sorry for my spelling and stuff. I should probablly spell check and such. But I'm really tired and I just got home and aghhhhh. I try to be good with that usually so spare me this one time.

What was this thread about again?

It was about the details on the Sandman car chase scene.

Now it seems to be about which person's opionion about the scene is more valid.

It also seems like you cannot have a positive or negative view of the scene. :(

So i guess i will be netural and say will have to wait and see.

And not go crazy over one scene since we dont know everything about it.

So basically you're letting the bullies... bully you eh. :down :down "Fook Dat"

If you like, say so. If you don't... say so too... and TO HELL with WHOEVER don't like it.

Actaully that is my opinion of the scene.

I think it could be cool but also has the potential to be cheezy, dont know enough to sway me either way.

I was just commenting on how it seems no one is allowed to express their opinion without getting attacked by someone with a different view.

Good for you.

I don't like:

1) Surfs Up Surfin Cowabunga Spidey (Cheese Galore and does not take the scene seriously in that moment)

2) Sandy "filler er up" Joe attack on the armored car. (Lame way of overpowering the gaurds and armored car considering Sandy's ability to change hands/arms into weapons. Means were either getting the kiddie's version of the scene as opposed to a kick ass one... or a sympathetic Sandy... just a guy robbin for his sick daughter... not really wanting to hurt anybody.)

3) The effects (yes part of them at least, maybe not all, but part) caused by *gasp* an out of control Armored Car. Now THAT"S What I pay my ticket price to see in a superpowered hero movie. :down NOT!!!
