ahhh...thank you very much, I didn't quite get how the tank style treads could become more circular, but now I see it, and by Golly, it makes sense.

All I have to say is JeeeeeeeeeeeeeeZus, I under rated the first movies potencial, not gonna make the same mistake with this one.

As corny as the script and dialog were, this thing is pure unadulterated eye candy, Devastator is gonna be able to make anyone his/it's well you know the B word.

That is insane. That giant transformer with the big wheels is just his torso!

That pic of G1 Devastator looks sooo real.

How was that accomplished?? Photoshop?? Was that fan-made???

Or did someone actually did an actual life size replica in this world?? Please let it be the latter:cwink:

Anyways,

Bay's Devastator looks good but if Leader Class Optimus will be taller than him on the toy version then I will not buy the Devastator toy.

And is this suppose to be the Tank Devastator on the first movie that was destroyed by Bumblebee only to become a bigger robot in the second movie???

Michael Bay screwed up the name of Devastator in TF1; that tank Decepticon is supposed to be called Brawl, not Devastator, which every TF fan knew to be the official name of the Decepticon combiner. Bay is merely calling Devastator by its real name in TF2.

Btw, Brawl in G1 was also an Autobot.

Sorry buddy but........

Michael Bay made no mistake calling the tank Devastator. He has publiclly acknowledged that he "CHOSE" the name Devastator because he thought it sounded "COOLER" then Brawl.

He named the tank Devastator because he thought it was a better name.

No he was not.

Brawl was a member of the Decepticon combiner sub-group called the Combaticons that combined to form Bruticus.

To be honest that loks really bad. It's fine for a cartoon, but look at it. They just glued some vehicles together and stuck on a head and hands... weak.

Ha... ahahaaa... HhahahHAhhaaa...

poor, poor child.

the more Devastator's design the more i like it. that render of a faithful G1 design is cool within it's own right, but if you applied that to a movie it would just be corny (no offense). with the new design they're using the parts wisely and practically. these machines use their claws to move and lift things, so it's only obvious that they'd be the hands. using a cement mixer for the head makes sense and it seems like they're using it as a weapon as well.

the thing that i keep in mind when looking at the Devastator is his name. his name is the DEVASTATOR! when you see this entity and/or it's actions your heart should skip a beat from the shock factor. he got his name and job from to destroying and wreaking havoc, so i think it's fitting that he looks like a hellish beast.

I agree to an extent. I have voiced my opinion that I do not mind the look of the movie Devastator... I like the beast-like creature that they have come up with... but drastically changing so much of all the other Transformers from any of their other incarnations is a tad dramatic.

Optimus Prime is the perfect example of taking the old... and making it new... and still making him recognizable.

Why couldn't they have done the same with the rest?

Okay, I stand corrected. But Bay's excuse to use Devastator instead of Brawl is a very lame excuse.

Good news for your purists is that the guy who did the famous fanart of Long Haul got hired into the movie and you will get to see the very same design in Live-Action...

He's green, mean and very G1 looking...

Well if it is true that RH400 is the only Consructicon Transformer, odds are Devastator is a new being not seen by either faction, hence he hasn't got a reputation from anywhere.

honestly..and it has nothing to do with being a major fan of the g1 designs or being negative or whatever..but i really can't see how some of you guys are jumping for joy over the design look of some of these robots..they are down right trashy looking and just lazy...

i fully understand, what was in the cartoon and comic can't translate well on screen (which none of us truly know that..that's just opinion) but devastator, starscream, megatron, ravage and a host of others..their designs are horrible:csad:..and i'm waiting to see them in the movie but this crap dissappoints me...they more look like monsters then robots....*thumbs down*

like most others, i would've liked to see more G1 resemblances as well, but since i wasn't raised on G1 it's not so much of a concern to me except for Megatron and Starscream. i think they could've have made them look more faithful, but i'm liking their new looks in this movie so far. i wish they made the rest of the TFs look as fine tuned as Prime then we could've gotten some better designs for the rest of the TFs but i don't think there is any way they could have successfully pulled off a faithful looking Devastator. regardless of how faithful he would've/could've turned out he would've needed to be changed in order to make him more menacing and intimidating.

Is it lame to like Root Bear over Coke????He just went with the name he liked more and thats not lame.

I wouldnt say his excuse was lame....stupid is more like it.

I know this stuff makes a difference in toys and stuff... but to my recolection Megs didn't refer to any of his fellow Decepticons by name in the 1rst, I think he did say Star Scream... or maybe an autobot said Star Scream.

the Autobots talked, Star Scream said somthin, and Megs talked. Did anyone even call Scorpinock by name?

Megatron called Starscream by name as a nod to the fans. none of the other Decepticons were ever mentioned by name.

Decepticon lines in the film (not including Megatron or Cybertronion talk):

Barricade: "are you username Ladiesman 217? Are you username Ladiesman 217? Where is the ebay item........where are the glasses?"

Starscream: "the humans have taken it"

I dont recall....but whats your point??????

Even if they didnt call each other by there names mose named themself in at least 1 scene.

As I said they named themselfs in one scene.

When the cons were all reporting in.

He's one of them

oh yeah...forgot about that part.

regardless, i don't think they should change Devastator's name for this movie. it's such a badass name! most casual fans probably won't even remember that the tank's name from the first movie was "Devastator".

WTF i thought I remembered Devastator in the first film. What will the call this robot then?

Kudos

my point is the average movie goer, the ones that helped push this thing to above 300 million domestic....

Don't remember that sequence and are probably not going to be confused by the name being used twice for different robots.

Besides Star Scream and Megs, Black Out the Chopper, Scorpinock, and Barricade, may MAY be remembered.

Devastator looks like a Cybertronian version of a Cave Troll....and that's not such a bad thing IMO.

Sideswipe looks to be the best design I've seen for a movie TF.
