Devil May Cry 4 Countdown... 8 days

We might just get a crappy update like we got for Ridge Racer. One that isn't really very interesting. I want to see some nice video footage. :(

It will probably be the best Devil May Cry yet and you aren't enthused?

Well, considering the fact that the only truly great DMC game to date was the very first one (DMC3 was good, but not as amazing as the first was in it's time) and that I had been let down twice by the franchise now, my faith and enthusiasm is understandably very much shaken, to say the least. Plus, Dante isn't the main character? That's like the biggest nail in the coffin.

Still hoping the gameplay videos blow me away though.

I'll only buy DMC4 if it's on 360... PS3 will blow.

I love PS2, don't get me wrong.

Hi Dante! (third shot) early versions I'd bet, doesn't look as good as their target (goes without saying) looks much more DMC ish though and the same as their other next gen titles. DMC is a 2007 release.

More information on the 15th.

EDIT: You can really tell they're using the same engine as DR and LP with this.

The game takes place after DMC1, in a city called Fortuna -- this appears to be a view (in part) of Fortuna.

The game is stated to run at 60 frames per second, according to the 2ch guy who posted the original details of DMC4 (which all turned out to be true).

Dante -- is no longer the main character, nor is he a focus of the story, rather Nero is. Please note, Nero is not Vergil from DMC3 or DMC1.

Nero will have many new combat abilities that differ from Dante's, one of which -- is that he doesn't have a 'devil trigger' persay, but a 'devil bringer' ability. The ability is brought through to his arm. Which is all glowing and ****. The director, said that one thing he felt was that as great as DMC3 combat-chaining system was, the combo's ended when the enemies died, so the arm (in part to many other things) can act as a grapple to continually rearrange enemies so that you can continually build up your combo's with no end to site (if you're good enough it seems):

The story details thus far is that Nero is the leader of a group that wants to resseruct Sparda. However, Dante (in this game is seen as an enemy) intrudes upon your 'base' and starts killing your generals off. As the main character -- Nero -- you gotta stop him. It is also said that you do not recognize Dante, why -- as said earlier, Nero is not Vergil. Confused? Yeah I am too. But that's why DMC4 has a story, it supposed to explain **** like that.

Itsuno also mentioned DMC4 will have a greater focus on story than the previous games.

The art director and designer is that of the Breath of Fire games (as you can tell from the art above) and the cheorographer is Yuji Shimomura, action cheorographer for the Japanese film entiled VERSUS:

And there we go. Some pre-emptive troll blocks:

No, the game doesn't look as good as the TGS teaser.

No, it doesn't look good as everyone's favorite green-tinted game MGS4. But they are different genres with different purposes in gameplay.

The game runs at 60 fps and it will be a boss fighting, combo crunching beast. It will look great in motion -- and haters will be owned. Why do I say that? Because Lost Planet and Dead Rising didn't get much accolades pre-video form, what makes DMC4 a special case to that routine? Nothing.

Hardcore gamers am thrill, weaksauce gamers am cry.

Sounds good so far, copied from the greatest forum in the world.

It looks much akin to Lost Planet and Dead Rising, considering they use the same engine that's to be expected. I can't imagine them keeping with the lower res textures upon release, it's definately a work in progress.

I just figured they would give us some really impressive screens :( Oh well... I cant wait to see what it looks like in motion at TGS anyway.

When is that issue of game informer suppose to be released? Please let this come to the 360, because I don't want to pay 600 bucks for the PS3 but I must own this game, no matter what. There is suppose to be a big announcement at TGS, any guess as to what it might be?

Judging from Capcom's multiplatform way of life and other recent events, my guess is that it will come to the 360.

You could pay the 500 dollar amount for the 500 dollar version or just wait for a price drop. I'd put this down as having an extremely slim chance of being ported. Capcom isn't all about multiplatform-ism these days, RE5 alone doesn't qualify them as such. They've already said that they will most likely keep Lost Planet exclusive.
