Diamond List for July 4, 2007

I'm more interested in getting Thor's reaction to everything that's happen since his "death", especialy Cap's demise.

Thor's killed. No one innocent, though.
Actually, Thor has at least one known innocent casualty of his carelessness during a fight--Jake Olsen was killed by shrapnel during Thor's fight with the Destroyer in Thor vol. 2 #1. So he's actually behind the Hulk in that respect (for me, anyway, since I agree with Slott's view).

Then why post it in response to my post?

I suppose I can accept it because it's actually shown on panel and part of a story.

I just don't like the assumption that some of these guys are off panel mass murders.

Oh, I agree. I'm saying that's his only innocent casualty. We've seen Thor consciously move his fights to other locales to avoid bystander casualties and we haven't seen any others that I know of, so as far as I'm concerned, Thor f'ed up once and paid for it by having to live the dude's life for months or years (who knows with comic time?). Plus, it was in a battle where he couldn't really move the fight, since the Destroyer is so much more powerful than he is.

6 is a decent week for me. Hopefully the return to the Last Son story line can spark some intrest back into Action, and given that it was sold out all the time at my store, the Directors Cut of Cap #25 is actually going to be the first time i read the issue.

IRREDEEMABLE ANT-MAN #10 (dead book walking, enjoy the last 3 issues folks).

At least it added to the stable of new Marvel characters. Along with Gravity, Sentry and Runaways, it's been a long time since they added this many new (good) characters. (I'd add X23, on the strength of her minis, but not everyone likes her. Same with Arana. Both legacy characters. Sort of.) Hopefully it will wrap up in a way that future writers can utilize him. Maybe a Damage Control mini. Or have him make his way onto a team. This is a kind of character that has a lot of "Hawkeye" potential in him.

Considering:
THOR #1 (never read much of Thor and JMS often has been overrated in my eyes, but My eyes will pass this in the shop and debate for 30 seconds)

I know a lot of people don't like the premise, but I'm excited to see what will happen. I've only been a Thor fan sporadically (I was reading it during Walt Simonson's great run), but I'm looking forward to Donald Blake returning to the MU. We'll see.

JMS is a good writer when he wants to be. He has alot of untapped potential.
"Untapped potential"? The man's been writing professionally for decades.
I have a Thor Corps poster hanging in my TV room.
You are now 70% cooler than you were before I read this. I've got a Loki sketch that Mike Oeming drew for me framed on my wall and a Thor statue on top of my bookshelf. :)

Oh, I know. Still, I like to see his reasoning. It's like tonguing a sore in the roof of your mouth: you know it's gonna suck, but you just can't help doing it.

Thank you. It features (from left to right): Beta Ray Bill, Thor, Eric Masterson and Jake Olson all thrusting their manly hammers in the air.
