Diamond List for May 13th, 2009

DARK HORSE COMICS
BPRD BLACK GODDESS #5 (OF 5) $2.99

DC COMICS
BOOSTER GOLD #20 $2.99
FABLES #84 (MR) $2.99
GREEN LANTERN CORPS #36 $2.99
HOUSE OF MYSTERY #13 (MR) $2.99
REBELS #4 $2.99
SECRET SIX #9 $2.99
UNWRITTEN #1 (MR) $1.00 (The book that proves previews work as marketing tools. I never would've picked it up if DC hadn't inserted previews of it in their Vertigo comics.)

IMAGE COMICS
I KILL GIANTS TP $15.99 (Oh, sweet Jesus, it's finally here! I'm gonna buy this thing like nothing's ever been bought before. My only regret will be that Image doesn't have Absolute editions.)
WALKING DEAD #61 (MR) $2.99

MARVEL COMICS
CAPTAIN BRITAIN AND MI 13 #13 $2.99
DARK REIGN YOUNG AVENGERS #1 (OF 5) DKR $3.99 (Oh, Enchantress. If you weren't in this, I probably wouldn't have bothered.)
HOWLING COMMANDOS #1 $3.99 (Hmm, WWII one-shot with John Paul Leon art? F*** yeah, I'll buy that.)
LOCKJAW AND THE PET AVENGERS #1 (OF 4) $2.99 (Woo! Dear new Frog of Thunder: Please be Puddlegulp.)
SECRET WARRIORS #4 DKR $2.99 (I think I'm dropping this after I get my Dum-Dum fix in this issue. The central concept is just too stupid.)
THOR TALES OF ASGARD BY LEE & KIRBY #1 (OF 6) $3.99 (If this were any other comic, I'd be appalled that they're just reprinting stuff for $4. But since it's Thor and the Tales of Asgard back-ups are really hard to find, I am excited in a not-appalled-at-all kind of way.)
WAR OF KINGS ASCENSION #2 (OF 4) $3.99
X-FACTOR #43 $2.99

Really? Not even for just a buck?

Lol, that's about how I was feeling Monday. Not really a bad day, but sure as hell not a good one. Just a day

Really? Not even for just a buck?
Eh, I might have given it a try because of the price. But the original solicitation for it really didn't grab me at all. That preview, on the other hand, was really interesting.

HOWLING COMMANDOS #1 $3.99 (Hmm, WWII one-shot with John Paul Leon art? F*** yeah, I'll buy that.)

OH! So, this isn't the Monster edition of Howling Commandos?? That makes me feel much better about picking it up. I really was scratching my head as to how the Howling Monster-Version got picked up again.

No, it's a one-shot set in WWII with Nick and the gang, supposedly setting the stage for Captain America: White. I doubt I'll read White, but this Howling Commandos thing looks pretty good.
