From another thread (Bat-World) I am inspired to make this poll.

We all know Burton's Batman is a killer.
I've always thought the "Batman-killed-Gobbs" thing was just a scare tactic rumour. But if you consider the facts :wow:

Johnny Gobbs got ripped and took a walk off a roof, all right? No big loss.

Ya know, it's funny you bring this up. This is a part of PJ Wares fan film, Batman: Prologue. It takes place right before the events of 89 and covers this little tidbit. You all should check out his site for this:

To answer the question posed in this thread, no, I dont think he killed him.

I doubt it, he was looking for people to spread the word, he only killed thugs of major enemies because they were of no use to him.

If he killed Gobbs, he probably would have killed Nick and Eddie, too. He probably told Gobbs to "tell all his friends about him" but Gobbs lost it and dove off the roof to get away.

I heard that Batman snapped Gobb's head in between his thighs.

So Yes.

"He had just sex with him"?

Because as we all know, when Batman ****s somebody, it's for justice!

I think he killed him, sure.

The conversation between Nick and Eddie took the incident from two polar opposites; one was convinced that a supernatural Batman "drained" the blood from Gobbs' body, while the other outright denied the existence of any Batman, man or monster.

I think the answer is somewhere in between.

Maybe he tied Gobbs' leg to an unsturdy gargoyle. Or had a swarm of bats attack him. Or threw a bunch of coins at him. There are so many ways to cause someone to fall to their doom.

Honestly? He probably tripped.

Yeah, I basically picture a Peter Parker/The Burgler scenario where Mr. Gobbs made a move during the said confrontation, but accidently "took a walk off a roof".

Ultimately, only adding to the whole "The Bat" mystique. Which of course, was being told to Batman's advantage in scaring the hell out of the whole criminal element. Thugs inparticular.

BATMAN: (holding Gobbs over a roof edge) I want you to do me a favor. I want you to - - -

GOBBS: Are you going to kill me?!

BATMAN: No. I've already said I'm not going to kill you. Now, about that favor. I want - - -

GOBBS: I have a wife and kids you know!!

BATMAN: Shut up and listen! I'm letting you live so - - -

GOBBS: Please don't drop me!!

BATMAN: Ah, **** it. *drops him*

That's what I always thought, too.

Interesting to think that Bats might've killed him, though.

Batman was probably just starting out so he was likely to have a few mishaps. The sight of Batman appearing in front of Johhny Gobbs (who could also have been on drugs, who knows) might have made him stumble or jump off a roof.

He didn't manage to save the Ice Princess either, and Gobbs was a low life compared to her.

No he didn't.

At that point Batman was more interested in thugs giving a good mouth-to-mouth advertising about "the Batman" than just killing randomly.

They also said Batman killed Jack Napier but Napier just slipped from his hand.

Of course he had sex with him.

That why Johnny took the walk off the roof.

LOL! Just a joke.

WOW! That looks awesome, they're releasing it later this year. Just take a look at this scene.

Now that is quality, the CG city was amazing:wow:

[nervous]I heard The Bat got him.[/nervous]

Listen ta me! There AINT...NO...BAT! Got it?

but anyway, yeah, I think he killed Johnny Gobs...there were probably 2 guys there, like in the opening. He probably pitched Johnny Gobs off the roof then had the other guy spread the word about how he threw him off the roof.
