It seemed to be implied several times.

Most especially in the logic of switching the addresses for Batman in order for Joker to get Dent saved. It seemed to me that Joker wanted Dent to be saved but knowing (somehow) that Batman would go after Rachel, switched the addresses. This either means Joker saw an affection for Rachel from Batman or Joker pretty much knew Batman was Bruce Wayne, which also seemed to be insinuated in a lot of their dialogue.

No...he just saw that Bats had something for Rachel...that was it. And it was part of his plan to drive Dent crazy.

I see the connection where Joker thinks Batman has affection for Rachel which is why he forced Batman to choose b/w Dent and Rachel. But where is the causative link to Joker thinking Batman is Bruce Wayne?????????????????????????????????

Just knowing that Batman would go after Rachel over Dent. That's what made me think it. Sure, Batman may have an affection for Rachel, but to knowingly switch the addresses so as to get Batman to save Dent would require him to know with great certainty that Batman was going to save Rachel.

I didn't even think Joker switched their addresses, but rather Batman decided to go save Dent to shock the audience and because for the sake of Gotham Dent's life was too important.

Because he knew Batman would go for Rachel and it would hurt that much more that she ultimately was killed. He just played a "joke" on him...that's all. Joker has no idea who Batman is and by the way the movie played out, doesn't want to now.

Yes yes yes. But where is the link to Joker knowing Batman is Bruce Wayne. He knows Batman would save Rachel b/c of Batman's affection to her from how he saved her.

But where does the link to Bruce Wayne come into play?????????

The Joker talks about Batman's affinity for Rachael during the interogation scene. He says something to the effect of "Does Harvey know about you and his bride to be" and "the way you flung yourself after her" referencing Batman saving her when she's pushed out of the building at the party. It just enrages the Bat even more.

During the final confrontation between the two Joker mentions that Dent was his "ace in the hole" and that it didn't take much to push him over the edge. Afterwhich he says the line about madness and gravity. The "push" that he gave Harvey into madness was letting Rachael die.

So he played the Bat by giving him the wrong address to go to. The Joker needed Harvey to survive and for Rachael to die. He wasn't about to let the fight for the city of Gotham left to a fist-fight between him and the Batman.

I just want to know where's the "tell" that tells us Joker switched the addresses?

I don't think that that is correct. When he ran out of the station and Gordon called after him and asked where he was going, Batman said that he was going to save Rachel; his reply wasn't an address. The Joker did indeed pull a fast one on the Batman.

There isn't one. He knew Rachel would die to torture Bats, not Bruce...that was it. Joker doesn't know...end of story.

Why isn't this thread closed yet.

The Joker said that Rachel would be at one address and Harvey would be at the other address. Batman went to the address that the Joker said Rachel would be. She wasn't, but Harvey Dent was. Mystery solved?

I wouldn't put it out of the realm of possibility.

How?? There's nothing that lent to the idea of Joker knowing or anything for him to know. It's not like the public knows Bruce has a thing for Rachel. They think he's a playboy ass. The only one that knows is Alfred and maybe Harvey because Rachel would have told him. There's nothing to suggest that Joker knows or anything evidence for him to find out.

this is the most ******ed thread ever. lol he had NO idea.

EXACTLY, the joker purposely gave bats the wrong addy so he'd save dent which was ALWAYS part of the jokers plan.

he KNEW bats would go after rachel.

DUH ;)

Exactly. There is no causative link to suggest that Joker knows Wayne has a thing for Rachel. He just knows Batman does, but its never explicitly or implicitly or alluded to that he knows Wayne does.

I'm in the "very highly doubt it" crowd, but I think this point can be discussed.

The fact that Batman said he was going after Rachel, and Gordon said he was going after Dent.. Unless they met up in their secret clubhouse along the way and told each other to change plans, it's pretty obvious to assume they went to where they said they would go, but Joker switched the addresses for funsies.

Joker said something like this-

"For awhile there, I really thought you were Dent. The way your threw yourself after her (When Joker threw her off the building). But now I see that you just have a thing for his woman, does Harvey know?"

Something along those lines. He never implies that he knows who Batman is.

:lmao:

Joker didn't know who Bats would go after, the point was just that whoever he intended to go save, he didn't. Whether he went after Harvey or Rachel.

We know he switched up the addresses because Ramirez tells Gordon's wife that they should go to the address that the Joker said Rachel would be at earlier in the movie.

No.
There's no evidence supporting it.
