I loved the movie. 10/10. The Joker was incredible and the movie was a masterpiece.

But there was one small thing that kind of irritated me during one of the main scenes.

During the scene where the Joker crashes the party and Bruce sneaks off to get suited up. When Bruce reaches that one room where the man and woman are and he opens up that secret door. I didn't mind the fact that they said 'Oh great, you have a panic room.' But after Bruce enters and shuts the door, the part where the woman goes 'You've gotta be kidding me.. heh.' felt really hammed.

Completely unnecessary I thought. A simple confused expression would have sufficed. Her bad acting kind of threw me off for a second before we got back to the good stuff :/

Am I insane?

Her acting was fine. Yeah, it didn't need to be there but it just added a bit of comic relief. Doesn't bother me at all.

i thought the only scene that was unnecessary was those two stupid kids pretending to shoot guns in the back of that car ... stupid utter waste of film and took away from the suspense of the sequence for me .. and also that idiot SWAT guy saying the same line twice... who was in the front with Gordon .... 'oh that's NOT good' at all ... didn't need to say it twice moron .. we got it the first time .. and a few spots where the editting was piss-poor.. otherwise.. this movie was a masterpiece

Wow...I had NO problems with the scenes you guys just mentioned...

It seems, according to you guys, that in a Batman movie there should be no room for brief spaces in the action to lend to humor in order to ease the tension in the scenes.

Maggie Gyllenhaal's acting in that one scene with her and Dent walking down the hallway talking about your not doing your job right if your not getting shot at. She's a good actor, but the way she carried out lines such as "He's a friend actually... TRY to be nice" just bugged me. That and the "that's not good.... oh that's NOT good" was annoying... as well as the kids pretending to shoot guns... besides that: near perfection!

well she really didnt know what was going on so she wasnt in a total panic she was just like wtf when he left them there

The only part that was really jarringly dumb was "Have a nice trip, see you next fall!"

hahaha.. i liked that one.. I say that alot to people so it tickled my fancy

Wow, this is the one of the stupidest threads I've ever seen. I was about to not write in it but because of it's utter lack of a real issue I felt compelled to. If you were to complain about the plot, the suits, the gadgets, etc. that would be one thing, but to complain about mere seconds of film time is pointless.

You don't spend much time here do you :p ... this is just one of MANY since the movie opened .. it's almost a game now to guess what irrelavant thread will be opened when it could be discussed in 10 other threads :whatever: it's still fun though ... just waiting for the merge now

Very dumb indeed.

I actually didn't mind the kids shooting the cars. Maybe because they had no dialogue.

I actually liked the lady's panic room line, and the line following it. I know people who'll talk just like that, where they stick in a fake laugh so they don't sound like a complete *****. Plus, it was sort of funny, and she was sort of attractive.

Her actions were that of a typical stuck-up 'phony' friend of Bruce Wayne's .. that's how I took it.. and yes she was cute :wow:

Yet another instance where Nolan puts the action in a context that its real and not a kids game. I didnt mind it.

I notice the things that really annoy people are any small glimpses of humor or levity in this movie. I thought that was fine and a nice laugh before things got serious with Joker. I also did not mind "Okay that is not good," as the whole audience is like "Oh SH IT" with them as the chopper crashes and it goes back to extreme tension.

I just feel no one wants any humor in these movies on this board.

I'd rather have Joker humor :oldrazz: Seriously, if it comes off as annoying as the "that's not good" officer, you might as well spare me.

I actually liked the panic room scene. That worked.

Well people dissed the humor in Batman Begins also, and I found it excellent. The cops reactions to the tumbler chase was priceless.

the only thing that bothered me a little was when the SWAT guy said "Okay that's not good" twice. The way he said it the second time bothered me a little. He said it the same way basically just added a little more emphasis on the "not". Besides that i loved this movie.

I thought that scene was great actually. When you look at it it plays to Bruce's selfish persona. It'll start rumors that he's a coward playboy and, hence, when the Batman showed up, there is NO way that someone as brave and daring as the Batman could ever be Bruce.

That's how I looked at it anyway. Her acting was fine. Better than Holmes! :o

I looked at it that way as well. When a problem arises, Bruce runs and hides and won't share his protection with anyone else. Great way to differentiate between him and Batman. Of course Coleman Reese would see past that though. :woot: :oldrazz:

I wonder what happened to the Joker goon he took out at the penthouse before the panic room scene.

Both audiences I was in seemed to love it, so whatever.

I agree with this one. Not real effective and I couldn't tell if it was supposed to be funny or not. That's never good.

Yeah, it's really the only bit with her that I didn't like. I guess she was just surging off an adrenaline rush. You saw it again a little when she was interrogating. She could've toned it down though. Acting wise, she was still an improvement over Holmes.

The only part that was really jarringly dumb was "Have a nice trip, see you next fall!"

Didn't bother me. I didn't feel like it was supposed to actually be funny which is the distinction. Just your average person making a bad joke. Bad jokes exist in real life.
