Did Xavier ruin the mutants with the Mind Gem?

Based on the recent Illuminati story, do you think Prof. X screwed up the mutants' future with the Mind Gem? Could it be he's indirectly responsible for the bizarre Magneto appearances, including the ones in Morrison's run?

Mr. Fantastic got the Power Gem from She-Hulk after she defeated Titania (was is?) in her book...that's what, in part anyways, sparked the search for the rest.
I don't know...I could be wrong but those issues of She-Hulk were pretty recent...

The Illuminati Infinity Gems fiasco should be a moronic idea that nobody else decides to follow or use. It's such utter nonsense that a future Illuminati (even #3) should show that they no longer have the gems. This is the kind of retcon Marvel zombies bit¢h about DC doing but their favorite company is just as guilty of using. Have I ranted enough on how idiotic this idea is? Because $h!t bad enough to warrant using at least one of the gems by their "keeper" HAS happened in the MU and they never used them; frak the whole "promise I won't use them" crap. What angers me even more is that I've been left with the feeling that Bendthis has been leaving "seeds" for some future story where all of this "never happened but now it has because I said so" bullexcrement will come to a head.

SHE-HULK had an Infinity gem?!? I never read any of the Infinity L.S.'s, but I assumed those suckers were in outer space, or in the posession of some cosmic characters. How on earth did She-Hulk get hold of one?

She-Hulk defeated the Champion of the Universe in the...um, Superhuman Law arc (I think) and he was in posession of the Power Gem but made a deal not to use it anymore...later on, he gave it to Titania who had a score to settle with Shulkie. According to the Illuminati issue, after She-Hulk defeated Titania, she gave the gem to Mr. Fantastic.

Unless I read that wrong...

I think they should get those Gems off the planet.....at least some of them....in the galactic sheme of things one planey it pretty small if someone decides thet want to track the all down again.

That might be wrong...but I've got the trade for "Superhuman Law" and that starts with her having to fight (and, eventually defeat) the Champion of the Universe...
