We should be glad they're not naming it Die 5ard

"Die Five Times Harder"

Use the old Die Hard 4 title back in 99/2000 "Die Hard: Die Hardest"

Will I'll still see the film. I love the Die Hard films.

The Die Hard franchise needs a new actor.Maybe after Die Hard 6,they can replace Bruce Willis with someone else.

NO! Bruce Willis IS Die Hard. He (and McTiernan) made the franchise what it was. Any extension of the franchise should be done Prometheus style.

After a 6th film I would like a prequel trilogy taking place 10 years before the events of the first film.

Why?

(By the way, I'm still shocked by how many people suggest prequels for various franchises, considering how few successful or even generally liked prequels there are. And the highest-profile prequels, a trilogy of them, are the Star Wars prequels, which are just about universally reviled.)

But with sequels, if you tried to play up the normal guy angle, he wouldn't be a normal guy anymore with all this **** he just so happens to get into four times.

The first got away with it. A normal guy in a extraordinary situation and real coincidence. Hell, every Die Hard movie is a coincidence. They explained that with the "Wrong place at the wrong time" line in the second though.

Actually in the third movie's defense, McClane was specifically targeted and brought into this situation by Jeremy Irons simply to be a distraction or red herring for the cops while he made off with his semi-Goldfinger styled heist. Though, Samuel L. Jackson just happens to be standing on a street corner and gets pulled into it.

But I didn't honestly care for that movie beyond Irons and only DH1 is worth repeat viewings, IMO. I think the series tried really hard to repeat DH1 with 2 and 3, which came out mediocre and decent (IMO). So, it looks like they're just not trying to recapture the first one anymore and I can live with that as the only movie that's come close is Speed. Thus, I was fine with big ol' dumb DH4, because it was still very entertaining in a summer with a number of DOA blockbusters (Transformers, Pirates 3, etc.).

So my only question about DH5 is will it be a good time at the movies? With his writer and director I am currently dubious.

I though part 3 was good, very entertaining. They completely deviated from the single location, which was a little risky, but with Jackson along the way, it was fun to watch.
Maybe he needs to grow his hair back, to remind us a little bit more to the old McClane.

It would be nice to see hair on his head again.

I read this one elsewhere, but it was perfect;

February 14th, 2013. A Good Day to (Watch) Die Hard

The Die Hard series should stop after Willis is done. John McClane/Willis IS the franchise. Just make a new series that's similar to Die Hard, once Bruce calls it quits.

I still haven't seen Live Free Or Die Hard. I'll seek out the unrated version, since there's no way in Hell a PG-13 Die Hard can be any good.
