Transformers the Movie finally brought the animated robots to life. The film was fast past and at times hectic. In the sequel it would be nice to slow down some of the fight scenes so that we can clearly see exactly what is going on.

A number of issue could have lead to the problem of visual confusion that I have heard from a lot fans and non fans alike. The color scheme of each robot and the fact that a lot of the inner parts appear similar on both autobots and decepticons, unlike for example in the G1 series where they had more color panels than the internal mechanics exposed.

It would be nice if the robots of Tranformers 2 adopt the panelling style similar to G1 or some of the fights are slowed down to appreciate the complex Fx. By slowed down I refer to camera movements and editing pace.

Of course with sequels FX should grow in quality unless the budget is reduced but this would appear unlikely...

I assume each robot will undergo a transformation in to new style or even just an improvement in color designs.

Being robots that adapt, story wise, it would appear that they would continue to evolve their designs to best suit their missions or current situations and thus one would assume their may be some major differences in looks to the first movie.

I do leave my words with one one question, will we see energon cubes? Make sense, the world right now has such a demand for oil and energy, so what happens if alien robots decide to come and steal from us.............

I think the major problem with the FX of the fights is the fact that Bay puts the cameras so close that we cannot see a damn thing and combined with the fast pace of his battles just makes it a mess of metal at some points of the movie. I hope he learns to move the camera back some and give us some room to breath this time espicially if he plans to add more bot time. Also I hated how we presented the group shots like they were posing for a modeling magazine.

He has the camera so close that it makes ya feel like you are in a tumbler. He has to review the TF epic shots, and toss more in. The fact that he didn't shoot Optimus and Megatron during the "one shall stand, one shall fall" exchange was a piece of crap.

I am a huge Michael Bay fan, but at Times, it was a blur of mechanical parts..........

That's one of the things that made the first movie so enjoyable for me.:word:

I think that that was Bay's objective.

5 Words: Keep.It.As.It.Is!

the wway they did it rocked so hard. kepp it as it is Mr.Bay..PLEASE. UNLEASH THE BAYHEM!

fast style works if they didn't have so mechanical parts or each robot had more color panels to help differentiate them

again it's not that the camera is close

in movies with humans close cameras actually makes things more intense and because it's humans we don't tend to notices...take a look at raging bull or even the borne movies, blade2

the problem was that there were just too many cuts in the editing

the camera's position was so on point tho
it was like filming scenes in a foot ball movie

povs and close ups on impacts work better than shooting the whole thing from the stands

and honestly i'm not sure why or how ppl get confused as to who is who, the decepticons were less colourfull sure, but the autos?
that one scene where jaz, ratchet, ironhide all attack devastator with the camera sliding in(ratchet does the jump and cuts off his arm, while jazz slides underneath him...), thats a scene that one should be a confusing mess, but if u don't know whose who mabye it's ur fault.

jazz vs megatron...
due to the colours involved and the buildings around them, visually it's hard to tell whose involved...
but then due to the audio, and the size relationship...it's evident
at a certain point it's not up to the director to have characters with bright shiny colours point themselves out all the time...
and that's where ppl make an unfair example out of TF

just take a look at most war films
everyone is dressed the same(saving private ryan for example)
and the camera is on the fritz with the heavy action starts
actually figering out who is who at every instant in impossible it really is
but we don't care...it's action...if some is shot or is about to do something relevant than we get that close up or staging shot
same thing with Transformers!(cept they have bright shiny colours)

I will say this tho
optimus vs bonecrusher was the perfect sequence as far as camera and editing work
it's how 30foot robot fights should be shot
it's a shame optimus vs megatron wasn't shot the same way
