Disaster Movie

We'll all here ridiculing the people who will actually see this movie but what about the actors involved in these movies, sure some newcomers might do a movie like this as a stepping stone in their career but what about the already familiar faces like Carmen Electra and Tony Cox (little black guy)?

Why is Carmen in all of these $hitfest movies, to prove she has no real talent to star in a real good movie I guess she takes whatever they offer her.

And Kim Kardashian in only in it because of her stupid reality show and for giving head to some rapper.

Show of hands, who has ever taken Carmen Electra seriously as an actress? Anyone? Anyone? Bueller?

Anyone who's looked at Tony Cox's line of work can see that he does half of his movies purely for the money. We're talking about the Ewoks movies, Silence of the Hams, Blankman, Who's Your Caddy, Hebrew Hammer. "Oh, but he was in Bad Santa, and that was a good movie!" It's the only movie he plays a significant role in that's the least bit watchable. Believe me, I loved Star Wars ep. VI, Friday, and Spaceballs, but those are hardly the highlights of his career. High points, maybe, but fairly minor roles.

I'm ashamed of the little black guy.

What is up with that midget black guy? Doesn't he have any self-respect? Any DIGNITY?!

Tony Cox and Verne Troyer should be in a movie together.

These movies actually make me long for the days when Saturday Night Live made movies. At least those films, much like an actual SNL sketch, are funny for the first 3 minutes.
Might as well call these "MADtv movies" being that they always have cast members from MADtv in them.

Yeah, I found that a little strange. It seems like the Movie movie guys are especially close to the producers of MadTV. It started with Alyson Hannigan doing a sketch on MadTV for Date Movie, and now it seems like the cast of MadTV (mostly the women) pops up in all their movies to do celebrity impersonations.

I wouldn't call these MadTV Movies, though. SNL Movies, for example, were movies that were clearly based off of SNL sketches. You don't call Anchorman or Walk Hard SNL Movies just because Will Ferrell or Tim Meadows happen to be in them.

I know i agree.

I knew TAC would agree with me. :D

Okay, truth be told, I just pandered to the Apatow fans. It gave my argument a little more weight than if I had used Groundhog Day or Vacation as examples.

At one point during the movie someone will use a lightsaber, someone will say "I am your father," and a little green alien will show up and say some trendy catchphrase from a popular TV show or commercial.

I've looked up the plot to Disaster Movie, and I don't understand how they could've screwed it up so badly. I mean, how hard is it to make a movie about disasters? Have a giant space-rock fall toward the Earth, assemble a slap-stick crew of astronauts to blow it up, consisting of the straight-man leader, stooge sidekick, big dumb guy, sexy female romantic lead who happens to be clumsy or a badass martial artist or gunslinger, and put a computer geek teenager on ground control at NASA.

Throughout the movie, have little bits of the space rock fall on the Earth, causing famous monuments to get blown up. Include a scene where a desperate crackhead chips off a piece of the fallen space rock, and smokes it. Have the NASA employees at ground control slowly drive themselves insane throughout the movie. In risk of making a joke in poor taste, push the envelope by including a scene where a city full of black people floods, and the president runs around like a little girl for a week straight screaming "what should I do?"

Finish off the movie by killing the minority (who will express disgust in the cliche during their own painful death), throwing in a song played by a band who resembles Aerosmith, and killing the female lead's dad, who will literally show up only in the final few minutes for the express purpose of killing himself off while the leading man gets all of the credit and his daughter in the most naughty of ways right before the ending credits.

Cut back on the pop culture references so the movie will still be funny 5 years from now, include only one celebrity cameo, add a few wordplay jokes and racial stereotypes for good measure, and you've got yourself a standard disaster movie parody.

That took me 5 minutes to think up. Where the **** is my movie deal?

I'm laughing at the fact that this thread has generated ten pages of repiles and not a single person has watched the movie, I love it. I swear, if any fan of these sort of movies actually posts in this thread, he could have a field day with all of us.

Anyone watch movie reviews by Spill.com?

So after Sci-Fi Movie...will there be a Comedy Movie and it actually be funny?

Okay, watch Spill.com's reviews of these movies in order, and watch as that one guy gets progressively angrier and more suicidal...

Epic Movie...

Meet The Spartans...

And again, their review of Disaster Movie...

They will probably make "Eddie Murphy Movie" and cast Eddie himself in it. And if not Eddie, his brother Charlie Murphy.

I cant beleive that dwarf black guy is doing movies like this.....he is sooooo much better then that, why let all your talent go to waste. Its sad how such a talented dwarf actor can waste his potential, he could've been the next Robert DeNiro except short and black :csad:

I can't wait til we finally get a spoof movie from "2 of the 6 billion people that hate these movies"...that would make my day

Sometimes, I pity the critics who truly have to endure this garbage on a weekly basis:csad:
