You're wise to make this the lynch pin.
You win!
There is clearly NO other possibility than that God instantly created the knee cap out of dirt.
No other possibility.

It is not a lynch pin Wilhelm. It is a key point. The appearance of the knee cap was the point at which man can walk more quickly standing upright and in fact can stand erect.

Without the kneecap, we would not be able to do the things we do today.

While I know that it seems like a trivial point, the creation of a bone deposit that fits uniquely in the manner of the Knee cap requires the complete realignment of the muscles, fascia, tendons and ligaments of the leg.

The tracing of an evolutionary or adaptory path can show that something changes, but the one bone changes everything about the movement, structure and design of the leg.

The biblical account has God fashioning the entire body out of the dust of the ground "breathing into it the breath of life." As the human body is composed of Water and natural minerals found on the planet, it actually is not that far off. :yay:

Whether you are right or wrong of your assessment of religion, I would presume to reform religion while your comments suggest that you would just assume abolish it. The freedom of religion is an fundamental principle of America and I would much rather protect that right.
God, I know you're a smart guy, so I'm mystified when you post like th^t.

I NEVER said religion is at the root of all violence and oppression!
I said violence and oppression have always been A result of religious belief, at some point, by some adherents.
And by it's nature, there's no way that can be avoided, if a group feels that they have the one, true will of GOD, the creator of the universe.

Next, to say that I would just as soon abolish religion is prePOSTEROUS.
I'm not saying that it's the cause of all of these problems.

I'm saying that problems stem from it as symptoms of a greater problem with humanity, which is why humanity ivented religion in the first place.

Let's check the batteries in the logic-caps before we go any further.

Unfamiliar.

In your opinion...and generally the prophecies in the Bible are both vague and retroactively fit to circumstances later on. Their have been many Christ like and claimed messiahs both before and after Jesus. And as I said, anything you say is essentially refuted by the pressence of Judaism.

It would be biologically impossible to breed the current human race from Noah's family and two of every kind of animal (or seven unclean) or whatever version you go with.

It evolved.

I have to run make dinner, but may I reply later to these. Some interesting ideas for dialogue?

Thank you. CR.:yay:

Not really. Being Christian and being Fundamentalist Christian are two very different things.

I've heard this argument from so many Biblical literalists (which is ironic since the building of the Pyramids take place during the supposed flood). But when you have 1000 slaves and 100 years to complete one Temple this achievement seems hardly as noteworthy as people make it out to be (by comparison to making say a Computer in a week)

Actually I am referring to their technology ... they did things that we cannot replicate. Are we more enlightened then?

I have never seen anyone suddenly "have to go make dinner" or "have to go to the store", etc. in the middle of a discussion as often as I've seen Christians have to go during discussions like these.

"Look, you make some interesting points, but I STILL say Sam Raimi was wise to make the Green Goblin's mask look like a Power Ranger...I really have to go do my laundry right now, but I'll return to prove you worng again later this week."

"Have to go call my pastor for a good answer anbd don't want to look like I'm fleeing" is more like it.

Really Wil? I was trying to be polite.

I am not about to call my pastor as you have yet to say anything that I have any problem with.

In fact for 30 pages not one person can explain the appearance of the knee cap and many have lots of information but actually have not read the bible so when they say Jesus wasn't there but are not familiar with the "Angel of the Lord" I am quite amazed that they can conclude something about the bible whilst not having actually researched it.

If you would rather I went and got dinner for my family and didn't at least acknowledge that I wanted to continue the debate ... what would you think then?

I find it interesting that you wish to slam me and say I am fleeing yet if I had left you would have a different post about me being a coward and running away.

I have a life Wil and it gets in the way of Dialoguing on the internet -- I will not apologize for being polite.

I thought I knew you but that attack seems a little off for you.

Perhaps you want to rethink it and edit it ...

And ps ... as for running away ... ignoring a post without answering it is exactly the same. So those who have not yet weighed in on the kneecap and the fundamental realignment of the entire design of the leg?

Some good points. I have to go rotate my tires right now but I'll be back with more thoughts.

Just for Wil's sake.

The Angel of the Lord is a preincarnate vision or appearance of Christ.

700+ prophecies that are fulfilled in Christ that go back from 700 to 1000 years or more are not retroactive -- they are in fact exactly what they claim to be -- a prophetic event fulfilled in the future. The Cross was a specific time when those who were "lifted" up were crucified. This is one of the simple, yet many prophecies that Christ fulfilled. I could list them all for you, but perhaps a PM when I have the type to type them out would be helpful ... or you can go here.

Your points about inaccuracies. I will research the individual points, but interestingly the bible does not teach that the sun is the centre of the universe. That was an interpretation of scriptures. The scriptures are actually correct in their description of the way the system works.

If you believe in Evolution you may want to rethink your last point. Current science indicates that Man descended from a common female ancestor ... (Eve if you would like but probably not) but that we can trace our DNA back to one woman. The animals taken in the ark could easily fill the earth and if the timing of Bishop Ussher is correct, then there was more than enough time for the animals to reproduce and for Noah and his family to repopulate the earth.

I thought you had facts from the bible, but the above noted items would show that the one you mentioned that I am not one hundred percent familiar with is the hare and the cud. I will check into that and get back to you.

My word on that ...

Some good points. I have to go rotate my tires right now but I'll be back with more thoughts.

Make sure they check the tread brother. Shops say they do ... but sometimes they don't. Wouldn't want you blaming God for your blowout.:yay:

And the hare, because he cheweth the cud, but divideth not the hoof; he is unclean unto you.

Every couple months or so, somebody starts a thread like this and everyone always says the same f**king thing it's ridiculous. No one will ever come out with a clear answer.

God, I know you're a smart guy, so I'm mystified when you post like th^t.

Sorry for being presumpuous.

I NEVER said religion is at the root of all violence and oppression!

No you didn't.

I said violence and oppression have always been A result of religious belief, at some point, by some adherents.

But you didn't say that. You said, "when their fruits are tested, all religions bring strife, violence, and oppression and have caused untold emotional trauma."

And by it's nature, there's no way that can be avoided, if a group feels that they have the one, true will of GOD, the creator of the universe.

I don't think its the nature of religion, but it might be the nature of uncivilized, irrational, and ignorance man.

Next, to say that I would just as soon abolish religion is prePOSTEROUS.
I'm not saying that it's the cause of all of these problems.

Sorry, my misunderstanding. What would be your solution to the problem with organized religion in today's world?

I'm saying that problems stem from it as symptoms of a greater problem with humanity, which is why humanity ivented religion in the first place.

Well, I don't believe that all religions were invented but what are some solutions to humanity's greater problem or are we just doomed? Certainly if evolution is fact, we should see our problems fade with time.

Let's check the batteries in the logic-caps before we go any further.

My logic is fine, but I do jump to conclusions from time to time with some of your comments and you are not always the easiest person to read. But I do enjoy your presence here on the Hype. :yay:

I had to go work out and now I have to go to a Basketball game...happy.

As much as I like Julianne Moore, David Duchovny and monsters, I have to say that EVOLUTION really sucked. :down

I hope people know that Evoultion is a fact, people are not simply trying to find proof for it..insteading of proving it exists at all.Ive said it before.

Prove it I was asked? Ok.

Hey God!!!!

...........

hrm. There you go.

I'm way too lazy and honestly don't care to actually read this thread. I'm just going with what the title says, but I find it extremely "lawl worthy" that you can call something FACT, when you can't prove it.

HEY!!!! When they find the half monkey man that is the supposed lost link to apes and humans, then I will believe in evolution. I believe in adaptation, not evolution.

Whatre you talking about? Evolution has been proven and can be proven by anyone with basic chemical knowledge.
