Evolution is a theory, not a law. For those who claim to love science, you should respect science by using the proper terminology "theory", an educated explanation of our natural observations. While I think evolution is true, calling it a scientific fact when all science incorporates a degree of uncertainty is kind of ignorant. I don't get why people have this obsession to need to declare and give an iron-clad explanation to other.

How come we became the dominate species in terms of intelligence?

ok do you wana know how humans came about, many years ago when the earth was formed, a meteor came down and hit earth, that meteor had micro organisms and bactira, they lived because of our clean air, trees, and water, exectra.

they grew, they evolved in water, they made offspring. these micro organisms than became aquatic animals. some how, one of them managed to get on land, and some how learned to breath. many years later, his off spring was able to breath air as well, and they also grew legs and arms. many many years later more an more animals came on land, they grew and evolved, and than, we have dinosaurs.

also, many years later, some animals lived, these were monkeys. it tooks hundres or thousands of uears for them to eveolve into almost human like creatures.

yada yada yada, we got smarter, we buitl, we hunted, we developed technology.

and that led us to today,

Dude...you're SO off-base. TREES ARE ALIVE. They're living organisms. Trees would NOT have preceeded single-celled organisms.

Evidence suggests that bacteria came about approximately 4 billion years ago. Guess what? No trees, and no Oxygen back then.

Ahh, the ever popular "you'll never be able to believe until you believe first."

Well how the heck am I supposed to start believing?? Like I said, it wasn't too much to ask back in the Bible times (as it's depicted), so why is it too much to ask for now? If God really wanted me to have faith in him, he'd know that he has to try a little harder. One of the first lessons learned in life is that when someone says to you "Just trust me and do as I say", they probably are trying to mislead you. Forgive me for being cautious.

I'm not saying I disagree with you, but you lack the mindset to be able to have faith in the first place. I'm the same way.

I'm just not so jaded and cynical.

iether its natural instict or we had help from smarter life forms, aka aliens.


i know that seems rediculus, but hey we had to learn things from someware. and i doubt we just knew what to do, i mean have you ever seen those myan and egyption paintings and carvings. in almost every one, there is a ufo or an alien.

i see an air plane, a helicopter, a space craft, and what looks to be a boat or submarine.

this was drawn hundres, hell thousand of years ago, in ancient egypt. we did not just draw this. some one told us about them

So like, there was this mold that's been growing in the corner of my room for a while. And Well, I kind of just left it.

And it started to grow legs and stuff, I never thought much of it...
but now it's holding a gun to my head...what do I do

I was discussing this with a friend of mine who is a doctor the other day. This stuff is complete bull****.The second it hits your gut it get's eaten away by stomach acid and processed into your fecal matter. The reality is that for this stuff to make any kind of difference you would have to drink a litre of it at a time. It's a complete con.

'scientific fact' is in the title of the thread, and I just mentioned what a scintific fact was, and how evolution confromed to it. So yeah it is. Go study some epistemology

define a fact then? I was just defining fact using the definition set in the study of knowledge, so if you have a better definaition, please use it....
