majik.... this is just my opinion/theory...

i dont believe a GOD by its popular sense.. i believe in a higher power.if its a being so be it.. if its a bunch of MIDI-CHLORIANS floating aroud so be it.. i myself like to think somehow we are all part of this power even the trees and rocks are... like the big bang theory(which i dont have a problem with) if life begins with dust then life must "be" dust..hence the connection.... but when you ask where does god come ffom... if everytihng has to start somewhere.. the god ..technically ( for lack of a better term) has to MAGICALLY appear..thats where theFAITH part comes in... science wouldnt be able to explain it.... at least not yet(if you believe like someone had pointed there is an answer we just havent found it yet)... so that being said my theory(i believe in logic but i have a spiritual side to me as well) would lead me to have FAITH that an answer is there.. but i substitute it with en EDUCATED possibility..

i dont know if that makes sense.. but thats how i feel

Did anyone really answer where they believe God came from?

I believe that God has always been here, he's the begining and the end. Our minds are too small to even comprehand God.

nevermind

They evolved from single celled life like everything else.

Dinosaurs diverged from their archosaur ancestors approximately 230 million years ago during the Middle to Late Triassic period, roughly 20 million years after the Permian-Triassic extinction event wiped out an estimated 95% of all life on Earth.[22][23] Radiometric dating of fossils from the early dinosaur genus Eoraptor establishes its presence in the fossil record at this time. Paleontologists believe Eoraptor resembles the common ancestor of all dinosaurs;[24] if this is true, its traits suggest that the first dinosaurs were small, bipedal predators.[25] The discovery of primitive, dinosaur-like ornithodirans such as Marasuchus and Lagerpeton in Argentinian Middle Triassic strata supports this view; analysis of recovered fossils suggests that these animals were indeed small, bipedal predators.
The first few lines of primitive dinosaurs diversified rapidly through the rest of the Triassic period; dinosaur species quickly evolved the specialized features and range of sizes needed to exploit nearly every terrestrial ecological niche. During the period of dinosaur predominance, which encompassed the ensuing Jurassic and Cretaceous periods, nearly every known land animal larger than 1 meter in length was a dinosaur.
The Cretaceous-Tertiary extinction event, which occurred approximately 65 million years ago at the end of the Cretaceous period, caused the extinction of all dinosaurs except for the line that had already given rise to the first birds. Other diapsid species related to the dinosaurs also survived the event.

Thanks for the Link Kritish. On anther note I still dun know why humans leaped over all the other species in terms of intelligence.

If you think god is just a more powerful entity would Q be god if he was real?

We're just smater animals, a chimp would do all of these things too if he could.

it's a two way process, you can use the same logic to synthesise one celled organisms from amino acides, like E=MC^2 gives you the atomic bomb reaction backwards etc.... There's lots on the amino life projects, altho a lot is in japanese:huh:

mind giving me your keywords? cause every search I can think of is giving me zilch in news or scholarly.

But then, we must realise if the dinos didn't die off, we would not be here. I beleive god destroyed those dinos himself.

eating cooked food developed a large growth in cranial activity etc, can't be arsed to find the link as I'm about to depart for a week from this wonderous place:(

why would god even care?

"And on the seventh day, god created a magical leopard and forgot all about earth....."

Yeah, but you should see the magical leopard, dude. Then you'd know why God abandoned the Earth like a failed science class project. It's just AWESOME!

You really need that grande an excuse to justify divine neglect?

If God sent the comet intentionally, is is still random?

jag

To us it may seem random, but in the grand scheme of things it was not. God saw us as an experiment, and we failed him, so God left us to our own devices. Unable to travel to other solar systems, we must now wait till we kill each other off, or run out of natural resources[among other things].
