WSJ COMES OUT SWINGING AGAINST CRITICS, CALLING THEM HYPOCRITES THAT HAVE OVERBLOWN IT AND SAYING IT'S NOT THAT BIG OF A SHOCK

http://www.deadline.com/2011/07/rup...ut-swinging-against-scandal-critics/#comments

So the spin begins. I expected this kind of ******** from Fox News. But from WSJ? Man that paper just lost all its credibility and has become nothing more than another NewsCorp/Murdoch talking points shill. That is depressing.

Its a big enough deal over here that Met Commissioner Sir Paul Stephenson the most senior police officer in all of the UK has resigned and Rebecca Brookes who Murdoch views as a daughter was arrested

Oh please...like you didn't think it already was a shill for NewsCorp/Murdoch....

Those that have been against NewsCorp will be even more so, and those that hold to their end of the political spectrum will run to their defense.

Nothing new here....

She posted bail and was out in 9 hours...

Murdoch losing his British empire (where he first became big) and having a dozen of his employees, including his right hand woman in the UK, arrested with the possibility of it coming to the US (even if his American companies didn't hack, Newscorp is an American company and will have committed felonies if it did indeed hack 9/11 victims' phones and/or bribed British police and politicians). There is a big shift.

As for me personally, I've always defended the WSJ as a good source for news. You can look at my older posts. While I deride Fox or the NYPost, I'd say WSJ while conservative is a great paper and an excellent counterbalance to the NYTimes. But today, it has lost all credibility for me when it became just another PR/propaganda machine for Newscorp with the morning edition.

I know it wasn't like they would keep her locked up, she has go before the parliamentary commission tomorrow. They were probably asking about the police bribes stuff

While their defense of News Corp was pretty low, I think it's gonna take more than one instance for my opinion of the Journal to drop.

Agreed....out of all the newspapers out there, it is the ONLY ONE that I will allow to grace the doorway of my classroom.

The only thing I allow into my classroom from the New York Times, is Scholastic UpFront....other than that, that is the only magazine and the only newspaper that graces my classroom. As far as TV news? NONE GRACES MY CLASSROOM....lol

What's interesting is all the heavy Wall Street people i've known both read the WSJ and NYT every morning. They may disagree with the latter's opinions, but they think that both combined is the end-all be-all of being informed.

I happen to read both as well, I am subscribed to both online.

I use WSJ because the reading level of the WSJ for high school students is the best out there...and they give me a hefty educators discount.

Very nice. It's better than when I was in high school and to teach us about the justice system they made us watch episodes of Law & Order. Not exactly the best source of education.

Good lord.....although I am a huge fan of all of the Law and Order's, CSI's out there, I wouldn't use any of them to teach my class.

My World Geography teacher in 9th grade "taught" us about each continent by literally showing movie after movie after movie to us all year. NOTHING BUT. And to qualify as a movie worthy to watch it just had to have SOMETHING to do with the continent. So for example we learned more about Africa by watching "George of the Jungle" starring Brenden Fraiser......NOT even kidding...

This teacher had his job secure because of the teacher's union. Yay.

What about DemocracyNow? I find their broadcasts and interviews to be very informative. In my opinion, I think they're one of the few media outlets that truly still practice proper journalism.

I don't listen to the all the time, but their reporting is good.

No, this is scary....

Tell me if theres a better thread for this.

Former Fox News host Glen Beck catching flack for his remarks comparing the Labor Party Youth Camp that was attacked in Norway to the Nazi youth.

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/43895169?GT1=43001

Furthermore the last part of that article he's quote as saying, "I warned that this what was coming in Europe ... Last fall I said Europe is going to go into financial trouble and it's also going to go into problems with radical Islam."

Did he not get the memo that the attacks were not instigated by anyone associated with Islam and was in fact a radical conservative? :cough:

Colbert tore MSM (MSNBC, CNN and Washington Post conservative columnist as well as Fox) a new one for jumping the gun on blaming it on Muslims last night.

Beck is just an ass looking for attention, I don't think anyone even remembered he had a website. He is more marginalized than Keith Olbermann is these days.

Didn't O'Reilly get upset that people were calling the Norwegian suspect a christian?

Its not as if he was a poster child of the religion. He can call himself whatever he likes; it doesn't necessarily make him one.

Since the News Corp is a parent company of Fox News, will FN go down hard if News Corp does?

15 years ago today, the FOX News "spin machine" began to air. :csad:
