Discussion: Gay Rights XVI - Part 5

Apparently an anti-gay street preacher carrying around a sign about people deserving to be raped took a baseball bat to the head recently. I'd be hoping for brain damage, but I wouldn't want to suggest that he had a working brain in the first place.

I would never condone violence but considering what homophobes have done to lgbt people especially Matthew shepherd, and continue to do, I will look away from this sort of thing and whatever happens happens

Hm, that reminds me of the old saying: Two times wrong doesnt make it right!

Attacking a homophobic idiot, doesnt Neccessary makes it better.
But on the other hand, this person thinks that people deserve to be hurt in the most disgusting way...so yeah.
I applaude the person who hit the guy...but will also look at the person with a stern look.

I honestly want to get more involved with LGBT rights discussion and stuff...but i dont have enough patience for it.
Homophobic people and those who are against LGBT rights are often so extremely obnoxious and plain stupid...it gives me headache.

Sometimes I'm the same. Two sentences into reading what the average Australian politician has to say about LGBT civil rights and I go all magneto and try to drop a football stadium on them lol

If a guy across the street from a school was protesting and encouraging people to molest children, he'd probably get his ass kicked. We'd all say that yes, kicking his ass is illegal, but I don't think we'd be clamouring for the prosecution of the person who did it.

I would apply the same standard to someone who advocates for the rape of adults. There shouldn't be a difference at all. There is such a thing as rule of law, but there's also the rule of "well, that's what you get," and I think as people who are properly integrated into society we are aware of that as well.

I can understand throwing punches, but taking a baseball bat to someone is a different story. It's not okay.

You can kill someone with your fists too. You start punching someone, you should assume the same level of legal responsibility as if you ran at them with a baseball bat.

Frankly I'm okay if the police do a very half-hearted search for the assailant.

Well no...because one is assault with a deadly weapon and one isn't.

Killing someone by hitting them with a bat is probably Murder 2 or 3.

Killing someone with a single punch is probably Involuntary Manslaughter. (Or, at least, they could be pled down to that.)

Not saying that how it should be or not, just the type of legal distinction made because you generally can't kill someone with a punch. Especially compared to what a bat can do.

The exception would be with people trained in a fighting technique. There's no such thing as registering your hand as lethal weapons, or whatever. But they will go harder on someone trained because they know their punch/kick is more deadly, they know how to inflict greater damage, and they've been training to avoid fighting (last resort mentality).

Weapons imply "critically injury at risk of death" it's intent to brutally injure. it could be a gun, it could be a bat or crow bar.. or it could be a golf club. Your intent is to cause damage. Not necessarily get them to stop (thats the debatable part)

fists typically don't cause "as much" damage so unless trained.. or unless you're a 300 pound beast hitting a frail 120 lb person.. they arn't going to consider your intent to punch as intent to kill

punches are a bit less pre-meditated.

Murder 1, 2 or 3 has nothing to do with the weapon used, it has everything to do with intent, with malice aforethought or premeditation, etc.

I wasn't saying the weapon did. Just saying that if you use the bat, you're probably going to get charged with one or the other because you had to have enough pre-meditation to pick it up and use it. Just not sure which would be the charge or plea.

Stacey Dash's Powerful Message to Trans People: Urinate and Defecate in Bushes

ffgsgjfilvjuwktck6uo.jpg

As a troll, actress/Fox News professional conservative Stacey Dash (Clueless) probably knows a thing or two about peeing outside: under bridges, into fountains, in bushes. So since we’re dealing with an expert, it’s important to listen when she advises a group to void their waste in public. In this case, said group is transgender people, to whom she advised during an interview with Entertainment Tonight: “Go in the bushes. I don’t know what to tell you, but I’m not gonna put my child’s life at risk because you want to change a law so that you can be comfortable with your beliefs, which means I have to change my beliefs and my rights. No.”

Dash refers to the act of trans people using bathrooms that correspond with their gender identity (like Caitlyn Jenner) as “tyranny by the minority.” “Why do I have to suffer because you can’t decide what you wanna be that day?” she wonders as she suffers. “It’s your body! So, it’s your decision, right? We all make choices.”

Also in the clip, Dash calls out Lady Gaga’s anti-bullying activism for promoting a liberal agenda. Dash appeared on ET to shill her book, so she has her own agenda and an entirely selfish one at that. What a reliable source.

She is one horrible person.

A black woman complaining about "tyranny by the minority".

I guess the 60's really were way too long ago to remember.

She's honestly gonna act like she wouldn't flip the f*** out if she or her kid happened to spot a transperson pissing in the bushes? lol come on, gurl. :o

How exactly is she suffering? Is the transgender person pissing in the private stall beside her giving off harmful radiation or something?

Kinky Boots on Broadway did a new version of “Just Be”, the song from the show’s finale, to address the issue in the best way they could:

I literally can't wait to see kinky boots. It comes here in October and I think tickets go on sale not long before that. I'll probably get them as a Christmas present!
