I feel like somebody either has something huge on Ajit Pai or somebody paid him a ****ton of cash.

Oh, ****er definitely got a huge check.

I bet he gets a cushy job as an adviser to some huge corporation that pays 50 million for him to sit in a penthouse and play tetris.

That's usually how these Wall Street kick backs work.

It’s more transparent than ever that the unholy alliance of neocons, corporate shills, and Christian Right is making a concerted effort to dumb down the educational system
To the bare minimum (a poorly educated populace is easier to control), wipe out the middl class, kill off as many people with health conditions, sick children, etc, as possible, and keep the rest of us yoked as their chattel in some kind of anti-science theocratic pseudo-Christian Fascist dictatorship corporatist oligarchy they want to establish by systematically dismantling education and the Constitution.

2 times now in the past 24 hours I've had idiots try to make this uneducated "the internet existed before 2015" argument and I have thoroughly enjoyed making them understand the gravity of the situation. The look on the guys face last night was quite pleasing.

Ted Cruz convienently forgets Comcast and Verizon both got *****-slapped for trying to control the internet prior to 2015 and infact it was Verizon's attempt to legalize their control that got Title II implemented in the first place. And also during that period of time they were under it, the internet did grow and expand and it did not harm ISP's one bit. They even said this publically but Pai and the Republicans straight up lied and ignored that fact.

The backlash and the lawsuits this is receiving is why I feel this won't become a reality. While some uneducated poor individuals will support these corrupt corporate officials, politicians, and so forth, people are starting to wake up and are tired of these lobbyists.

Well that didn't take long. Sprint just threatened to throttle my data speeds if I use more than 23 gbs of data. I pay for unlimited data.

:cmad:

They've been orgasming over this repeal, I tell you. I use Unlimitedville, somewhat more expensive but it ain't throttled nor are there caps. Hopefully they don't fall under the spell.

:cmad:

AT&T has been doing that for a couple of years now.

Double check when it applies. For AT&T it only gets throttled when in large locations (cities) with heavy congestion. You still have unlimited data.

Although, when it happened to me, I did make the argument that it's less unlimited because I can't download as much data in the same amount of time if my speeds are reduced.

Oh you didn't hear the good news? S***head Pai is now trying to get mobile date re-classified as broadband data so they can f*** us even harder.

Unlimited data*

* Not actually unlimited. Additional vague and contradictory terms apply.

Sadly, you are going to need 60.

I guess it is one of those regulatory things then. I remember a lot of things got repealed early on in the new congress, so I guess this falls in with that.

This needed to be posted here.

Haha... The dude in the red shirt and the blue shirt sunglasses guys REALLY want a Whopper.

From everything I've read online the IPSs have really f***ed themselves having Pai kill net neutrality. Most states are coming out with their own protections like above so it's going to be a nightmare trying to make sure they are in 50 different guidelines.

On top of all the lawsuits, they also tried to pre-empt all of these states by saying they can't do that as they gutted themselves but apparently once the FCC relinquished control over regulating ISPs they can't go back and say they also have the power to enforce these restrictions on the 50 states.

They were so gung ho to f*** all of us they actually f***ed themselves way harder! :lmao:

All of this you have to remember is because Verizon tried to screw over customers several years ago and forced Net Neutrality into law when they took on the FCC and lost before Pai attempted to kill it.
