Also contrary to what Trump Dump says, America is already great. If I staid in my home country police would be aiming to kill me while I try to survive underground literally. People just want to continue to make it better.

Yes. America is a paradise to the oppressed and violent nations many immigrant come from, but compared to some Western/Northern European countries, New Zealand and Canada, America still falls short of 'greatness'.

Which is why I said always room to improve. Might be wrong, but think they all basically even out mostly. Some places are better than others in some areas and worse than others in other areas. All have room for improvement. That was in regards to those who would say America is absolutely terrible.

Yes. Western/Northern European countries, New Zealand, Canada and Australia (can't believe I forgot Australia) even out, but not America. We rank number 17 in prosperity. Our wealth gap is much bigger and in terms of violence we rank closer to third world countries. Even in terms of "freedom" Canada ranks ahead.

Oh and our education system is handily worse. So is social mobility. There is nothing 'even' here.

You're spot on!

Right now my country is using America as the inspiration for changes in the welfare system and it's freaking people out.

Except throughout this entire topic I've been suggested some ways of combating it, and asking for people who live in the actual country to suggest ways they think one can decrease its prevalence. You're either putting words in my mouth or deliberately misconstruing what I say with the last paragraph, I'm not saying "do nothing about it", I'm saying people need to contextualize their circumstances.

Now you're being needlessly hyperbolic, again. I used those examples to juxtapose the West with countries that actually are "the most racist countries in the world" - which is what some pop-leftists claim the West is. Let's break this down simply; if someone says "The USA has a massive problem with prejudice/racism" and I counter with "No, India has a massive problem with racism" I'm not saying America's problems don't need to be fixed I'm saying people need to contextualize their complaints in regard to reality. The West still provides the best living standards in the world, as someone currently living in a dump of an African country I have to roll my eyes when someone like hellified deplores what I'm assuming is where he stays (the West) when he has many opportunities and few detriments to his ability to achieve what he wants.

These two topics aren't mutually exclusive, it's possible to both identify the problems minorities face in the USA/the West while being grateful for/admitting that they still enjoy good standards of living overall. Pursuing positive change and acknowledging the benefits of a certain country aren't at odds with one another, despite a lot of people's best efforts to create that false dichotomy.

I didn't say sure fire solutions, comprehension better.

I had a decent response typed up for this in regard to solutions related to education and positive socialization regarding diversity, but honestly you're not worth it. You act like a pedantic and morose little toddler that has frequent childish fits in this thread and I suspect even if all the variables in the world changed to make life exactly how you think you'd want it you'd still complain and place responsibility for your life on other people's shoulders.

As someone actually constructively contributing to this topic and with all due respect, you GTFOH

Now whose putting words in someone mouth and jumping to conclusions. I have NEVER said america was a horrible country or deplore living here. Being critical of the society you live in and hating the country are not the same.

and that "I had a decent response typed up for this in regard to solutions related to education and positive socialization regarding diversity, but honestly you're not worth it." is the funniest crap youve written so far.

TRANSLATION: YOU HAVE NO ANSWERS:whatever::whatever::whatever:

And all youve had are complaints about the actual solutions that were enacted...again whats your opinion of affirmative action?

hell you deemed that MTV video racist and it was doing EXACTLY what you claim you want..people talking about the issues they have with society and why its an issue to begin with and a way to resolve it. You moaned and complained that it hurt your feelings. :whatever:

Then you posted an article about a black on white crime and glibly implied blacks would get a pass on it because you know theyre black and we regularly get away with committing hate crimes. :whatever:

youre doing EXACTLY the crap you claim that me and others are doing which makes you and those who agree with you INCREDIBLE hypocrites.

Youre not nearly as fair minded as you THINK you are.

Wait! I may be a so called "ignoramus" - but I am reading some posts as "because some parts of the world are f'ed up - you should shut up about things that need fixing in your backyard"?

Well you got no arms and legs but at least you're not dead.

Unsure. It seems like one is saying "America isn't terrible, yet can get better" and the other is saying "doesn't matter, America should get better" but those statements are being reinterpreted as "stop complaining" and "America is terrible." Both taking the other to the extreme, but could be wrong.

lets put it this way..

A person talks to their friend and says their spouse is verbally abusive and they don't like it. And the friend replies "well your spouse keeps a roof over your head and food on the table and clothes on your back and its been like like a long time since he stopped beating you. He could be better but he isn't like he USED to be and the lady down the street her spouse treats her like crap and beats her now. So you should take that into consideration..."

is that a helpful reply at all???

No one is saying that. If you read it that way, you misunderstood.

Somewhat. Just aren't you and them both also saying it can and should get better as well? Thus both agreeing the way it is now isn't right and that things can and should get better?

Someone actually yelled at me that I was going to be deported soon earlier today (I'm Mexican, legal). First time I ever experienced that, couldn't believe it. These are going to be a crazy four years.

Nope. Never had someone yell at me and I'm not Mexican - Colombian, there's a difference man lol. Not that I have anything against Mexicans. Hispanic myself. And sorry that happened to you man.

Why do conversations with white people about race fall apart?
She is criticizing a white person using black emojis and defending a professor that tweeted out "All I want for Christmas is white genocide" and calling those critics racist. Why do conversations with white people about race fall apart? There you have it. Because saying "kill all whites" is not racist but tweeting black emojis is.

Why do conversations with white people about race fall apart?

Probably because a lot of white people have the uncanny ability of making the conversation all about themselves, happens all the time. Also think most only understand racism from the textbook definition of the word they learned in school and don't understand it runs much deeper than what they were taught.

I like how the same people who bray about racism 24/7 like it's their job think nothing of continually making blanket statements about white people.

"The oft-uttered “Not all white people” is a form of white violence."

Oh come on.

There are some people who want to use language to box others in, so that literally any critique, any response that isn't their own can be framed as some kind of transgression.

This is the issue with current leftism, they're creating an environment where a white person resisting some kind of unacceptable behavior is just more "oppression". For some reason whites are so strong, so special, so resilient that they must be able to withstand whatever anyone says about them, indefinitely, and are not at a personal level allowed to complain. I mean, they've had it good for so long, what have they got to complain about? Only when 6 million have been killed my Germans, an entire section of a white population has been enslaved for centuries and they've been victims of forced migration can white people ever complain about anything - that seems to be the logic.

How long can any reasonable person keep hearing things like "All I want for Christmas is white genocide" before they start returning those sentiments in kind?

There's rightful outrage when someone communicates that kind of sentiment towards minorities, but for some reason if communicated about whites it's dismissed - that kind of double standard is only going to polarize people more.

Thank you for that condescending attitude. I'll be sure to feel sympathy for your situation now.

Obviously I couldn't before because it's all about me and the examples of racism I learned about in school weren't good enough for me to really understand.
