In my younger days I came within inches of that. No insurance, no savings, no method of paying off a massive medical bill. I managed to avoid that but only because I didn't get seriously sick enough to be hospitalized.

We need universal healthcare, period. I'm in a better place now than I ever was and it still put a small dent in my financials.

If we're rich enough to pay for other countries' wars, we should be rich enough to have universal health care.

I will grant Fetterman this, immigration is out of control. Even I'm starting to get a little annoyed at millions crossing the border like it doesn't even exist.

We have the late Henry Kissinger and decades of awful R foreign policy in South America that’s led to this. And every time Ds bring up an honest faith bipartisan immigration reform bill in Congress, most Rs refuse to vote for it.

Because they know if enough of their party votes for immigration reform, they lose their key rallying point to get R voters to the polls. And the Murdoch propaganda machine won’t like it one bit. Instead of complaining about the border, they’ll have to fear monger about trans people or “parents rights” or the race baiting “blue state crime hell holes.”
