Disney CEO Bob Iger confirms that The Marvel Cinematic Universe will go on forever

Since when has Marvel proven they can actually make a solid movie about supervillains? Or how about villains being bland an uninteresting other than Loki of course. I want to see superhero movies. I don't care, nor want to see a movie dedicated to the villains. This is especially true since there are many more heroes Marvel could make movies about. A Sinister Six film should happen only when Marvel starts running out of ideas.

Sinister Six wasn't actually going to be a movie about the villains so much as it was going to be about Spider-Man being forced to team up with the villains to fight something greater (... dinosaurs, apparently). I'm glad it didn't happen (c'mon, MCU was easily the best option), but it was actually going to be a Spider-Man movie.

So you don't care at all about Suicide Squad?
Marvel made solid movies about a guy who rides an ant and a talking raccoon. At this point it wouldn't be smart to underestimate them. The villains took the backseat in the previous movies because it's all about presenting a likable hero.

The main appeal of the Sinister Six is that they are six of Spider-Man's greatest enemies teaming up to face him together. Making a film with them as anti-hero protagonists defeats their purpose. Maybe there would be some potential for it down the line, but it would be really misusing them to do it without them being proper villains in a Spider-Man film first.

That Sinister Six trademark Sony and Marvel renewed should, ideally, be for "Spider-Man Vs. The Sinister Six". Maybe the conclusion to the rumored "high school trilogy" the first few Spidey films may be doing.

Yeah, I think that the traditional Sinister Six work better opposite Spider-Man. I wouldn't mind a "Superior Foes of Spider-Man" film though, that could be fun.

I don't want to go crazy with Suicide Squad. We have still yet to see how DC handles the sort of magic/comic bookie side of the genre with Sci-fi elements. Watchmen failed and GL as well on the opposite end of that spectrum. Obviously it looks good, but Ayer can pull another Snyder worst case scenario and deliver a meh product.

I think Thunderbolts would be the obvious bet. Masters of Evil not so much, unless they rebrand that group. Magneto obviously doesn't exist here and he's the most compelling villain thus far in cinematic lore. Even the Spidey villains have fallen off big time. It's hard competing against the greatest comic book villain of all time (Joker).
