Disney Infinity Platform

actully skylanders has been a lot more steady financially since it started the toys to life thing. but again this is more of an issue with Disney not doing well in the console space over all then Disney infinity it's self. that was making money. it just couldn't fix the other problem disney had there.
 
Also, true about Amiibo. They're basically just cool looking mini statues. I guess that could be different on NX.
 
Any way since marvel has been publishing some games them selves to smaller dev's starting out like I said we'll see if they try and save this ip or not. they Should try to keep those dev's as well. Especially the people that made sleeping dog's that helped with Disney infinity.

Especially if we ever want to see a dare devil game the likes of the Arkham game series but it's own thing.
 
so, when Disney shuts the Infinity game down, what will happen to all the existing figures owned by customers?

will they stop working?

will there still be a game that owners can play with their figures, but just no new content?

there will still be a game)limited fashion.) . but it won't be updated with new content anymore . All the dev's will have to find new work as disney said they are taking the studio names since disney infinity was an in house project/thing.

The dev's them selves are up for grab's with the exception of the out sourced studio's that helped with Disney infinity like the studio that created sleeping dogs.
the toy them selves were meant for something on your self as well as a collectors item as much as it was something to use as toy /added feature to your game.

so if the game isn't in use. you have a collectors item. it'll also depend if Disney decides to sell the ip and or marvel themselves buy the ip and keep it running since they are licensing games to dev's studios and publishers.

still, it sucks for all the owners who invested all that money buying the base platform, figures, etc. and then to have this happen.

I'm glad I didn't get into this ( I almost did for the Force Awakens set ). I wouldn't be a happy camper right now......lol.

yeah well let keep in mind that disney infinty made them tons of money but it's disney own games divsion that shuting down as whole which is why this is all happening. the game by it's self did what it could. Disney's games division (other area's) were struggling.

hope fully say if Marvel them selves wants the game to keep it running, they may buy it them selves, if they can and keep in contact with all those dev's and do some thing them selves since they were licensing games them selves.

yeah. but if Marvel buys it, wouldn't that only apply to the Marvel characters in the game?

so, what about the SW characters, princesses, Pixar characters, etc.?

I don't see Marvel taking control of those characters.

I guess that's the downside of using a "shared" game world for all of these characters.

technically yeah but maybe they can do what square has been doing with kingdom hearts. but that's overly wish full thinking unless marvel starts doing special comic's and project for disney. . again overly wishful thinking.
 
yeah. I think when they shut Infinity down, that will be the end of it.
 
pretty much( Unless they let some one else buy's the ip or they license it out ). It's basically done.

I wonder what this means for the toys themselves. Will they go up in value, or the opposite? I was considering collecting some of the toys, though I'm not interested in the game itself.

it's possible but we won't know for sure . we'll find out soon I guess via the game news outlets

so if they want to make it like kingdom hearts with Another publisher CAUSE THEY LICENSED IT. it's possible . other wise that pretty much it for this franchise .

I mean, it's possible, but basically it would mean that the whole of the Marvel license would have to be given to Activision. Disney still hasn't licensed a single Marvel property to anyone.

if the current boss's at ativison retire may be. The thing is the reason disney took the license's away was due to what happen with the dead pool game where one of the dev's told the gamers news outlets that the heads of the publisher called screwed over high moon studio's and made the game not as good as it should have been and they don't care for the marvel games anymore they have their own titles they making tons of money from .

until those people leave it's unlikely. It's like asking someone to go back to an abusive marriage when that other person doing the abuse hasn't shown sign of change.

you want that game ? Don't expect it to be called ultimate alliance. Game play maybe but not the literal name to return .

so far many years ever time there's a comic con live stream some one always asks the the people doing the stream of the watcher them . and the people say this for a reason there isn't going to be an ultimate allaince or not with that literal name. if one happens it won't be called that. cause ther is bad blood between activison head boss's and marvel and Disney isn't happy with activation ether.

Honestly don't care about the name of the game so much as I do the style of it.
I just loved being able to control multiple Marvel characters in a Diablo type game, and enjoyed the first much more than the second.
 
To say I'm disappointed is an understatement. I'll never get figures like Scarlet Witch and Wasp. Sigh.
 
I feel these things are gonna become collector's items.
