Seriously you can put Walken in any role and you just laugh at it.

so true so true.

i hope the animators him as inspiration for the animation. would be even more funny.

If they have him cover I Wanna Be Like You it better get an Oscar nod and force him to perform live.

"I'm tellin' ... you ... guys. Swingin' ... from trees ... all day ... makes me want ... some sort of ... banana. It's crazy ... you know. Wow! This jungle ... so humid. I feel ... like dancin' ..."

Shere Khan in this one is played by Idris Elba.

Yeah, that's right. My fault.

Elba and Cumberbatch playing the same role in different films. Well I'll be damned.

They're also doing Jungle Book on Broadway with Tom Hardy portraying the character. :o

He was a creation of the Disney movie, was he not? In that case, almost certainly no.

Well that makes the Disney film automatically better.

I'd give Disney the edge, especially when you add in Walken.

Walken gives Disney a slight edge, but only because it's Walken.

I haven't read much on either, but just based on the actors cast, I'm guessing WB's version is going for the "dark" approach, lol.

Yup. Here's what Serkis said about it -

What I love about the screen adaptation by Steve and Callie Kloves is it’s very truthful to the original book; it doesn’t shy away from its darkness. The jungle is a Garden of Eden and a wonderful place for Mowgli to grow up in, but also is a place of fear and a place of threat.

Yeah, Disney is going to basically make theirs fun, with bouts of danger and pathos. That will probably be the one people will flock to as opposed to the more serious one.
