You would think the same for Pinocchio or a Peter Pan, and look how terrible they were with top directors behind them. Worse in some ways because of the smaller budget. Especially when the CGI or locations fail for any magic.

We'll learn that Frollo was never really a religious fanatic. Frollo was feigning the whole act so people would come to love and accept Esmerelda and Quasimodo. He played the villain to give the public a villain to turn against and sacrificed his life so Esmerelda and Quasimodo could live peacefully.

I think I'd rather see them remake the animated films, than an origin film for the villains.

Like I'd easily picked a new 101 Dalmatians live action film and Sleeping Beauty, over Cruella and Maleficent.
