Ron Moore seems like such a bizarre fit for this, lol. But I'm definitely intrigued.
Post-BSG Moore? A little.

But the Moore who was such a Trekkie that an unsolicited spec script got him a job on TNG? I could see it.

I am watching The Muppet Show. A lot of this I don't remember because it has been a real long time. I am of course loving it, but anyone who thinks they didn't need a content warning really doesn't remember it. Though I have to say, it is interesting what they do and do not think needs a warning.

See. I made you watch BSG simply so you knew who would be crafting shows based on your favorite rides. :D

I'm not huge on the Muppets, but I'm gonna watch the Christopher Reeve episode tomorrow as part of my Supes day.

Oh crap, I forgot was tomorrow! I think I might need to bust out some of my favorite TAS episodes, a Supergirl episode, and a movie.

Outside of the Muppets episode, what else are you watching tomorrow FC?

Tyler's SG eps, the Lois & Clark two-parter when Clark proposes, and a few TAS eps (I haven't decided which ones beyond "The Late Mr. Kent"). No movies for me, lol.

The reason I said "a movie" is it is honestly slim pickings. :hehe:

I hope you enjoy it FC. Especially the first couple episodes of the new show. :supes:

And I realize this is 3 months old, and their bundling seems to be handling this right now, along with ESPN+.
Yeah its a rumor from last year. But Ive been thinking about Hulu being separated from D+ today and I'm still confused by their strategy of having 2 streaming services (eXcluding Espn+).

Probably because of how Hulu functions as a live television service as well. That's the big thing with Hulu. It can cost quite a bit. I think the largest package is something like $60, plus they can add premium channels, that Disney does not own.

Disney likes to present itself as "safe family friendly". Love, Victor was to mature for D+ where it was supposed to air. Lizzie McGuire revival was branded as too mature with it being PG-13. Disney wont merge the two anytime soon under that mindset. Not to mention Hulu Live is popular and brings them a lot of money.

I think the Disney Star strategy internationally kills this idea.

Oh I didn't know about a live television service.

It just confuses me that Disney+ doesn't have an ABC tab and a 20th Century foX tab yet some of the programs from those networks/studios are now under the "Star" tab of D+ like Desperate Housewives, Grey's Anatomy, Revenge and Ugly Betty or still only accessible in Hulu. So I'm confused by the division. People say Hulu aims for more mature content but I also just found out that Deadpool is D+ in Canada. I also think D+ could be a stronger streaming service if they absorb Hulu.

What's acceptable in one place is different in another. Though they tend to turn a blind eye to superhero films.

Yeah I understand that. in Uk and Ireland for eXample, they already have shows like Grey's Anatomy on D+. I also read Lost would be on D+ in those countries. But Im Not sure if thats the case in U.S so i had to look it up online. i think they might need to streamline things to avoid confusion. Universal and Wb aren't splitting their library to different streaming sites now they have launched Peacock and MaX. Viacom Cbs as well if I'm not wrong.

They dont have any established streaming sites though. Hulu is very established, has live tv/sports, new episodes from all the networks next day.

I think the way things are right now is fine, it isnt a HBO/HBO Max cluster.

Isn't Hulu still jointly owned?

I would rather they keep them separate. For one thing, if they merge the services, it will more than likely raise their costs.

Secondly, Hulu is a different type of service and does and shows a lot of things Disney+ doesn't.

Yes but Disney has majority shares.

The Muppet Show was pretty much conceived as grown up counterprogramming to Sesame Street because Jim Henson didn't want to be known only as a children's entertainer. Hell, its original pilot was even called The Muppet Show: Sex and Violence. I think Muppet Babies caused a lot of the stigma of the Muppets in general being "just for kids". The offensive content is, much like Aristocats or Peter Pan before it, a product of the time.

According to Wikipedia, hulu would be purely Disney in 2024 as NBCUniversal still has licensing deal or contract with hulu until at least 2024. But its fully operated by Disney now.

Sure, a merger/Disney+ absorbing it would lead to a price hike but the consumer would get so much more content and variety. While the Bundle holders would only need to pay to Disney+ and espn+. There's no Disney+ yet in my country but having access to Grey's Anatomy, Lost, various ABC shows and other foX movies and shows would definitely attract more to me once Disney+ is launched here. I don't watch sports so I don't care about espn+ but a merger of that would be a + to Disney+ as well.

Yeah, I don't mind a disclaimer at all. Prefer that to any censoring. 20 years from today, there will be quite a few things on TV/movies airing right now that'll require a disclaimer as well. It's bound to happen as we always continue to evolve.

It seems Collider jumped the gun - they announced Bad Batch will premiere on Tuesday, May 4th, but have since pulled the article.
