TV Disney+

General Television
I laughed a lot during that Willow cast announcement. Wished we would‘ve seen some of the sets.
This will probably be released in last months of 2022…if not early 2023.
It will face hardest competition going against the Lord of the Rings series and House of Dragons (though different target group)

Listen, I love The Boys, and I don’t entirely disagree with the satire, but their criticism of Disney+ is pretty rich, considering their streaming platform, run by Amazon, is owned by Jeff Bezos, who literally wasted hundreds of millions of dollars, money that could go his employees or other beneficiaries, just to go to space.

Though I almost got everything I was hoping for (except StarWars and Peter & Wendy), I hated the way they presented it.
Reloading the Instagram Feed all the time hasn’t created as much excitement as last years presentations during investors day
That was really awful

I wonder if they make some announcements for StarWars in the next 6 weeks. StarWars Celebration is end of May and way too long to announce their plans.
Don’t know, if they need to wait after BoBF ends to drop a teaser trailer for Obi. My guess is last week of December or first week of January.

Hope they drop a trailer for BoBF before November ends. Mandalorian got one only 2 weeks before the premiere of it’s seasons. Whereas marvel series usually get a trailer one month prior to release (Loki even more than 2 months prior)

They should add Hulu as a hub similar to Marvel and Star Wars. Maybe put a parental lock on it if you want, but I would prefer if everything is in one place.

Yeah Idk why they‘re not doing it. We have the hulu-content under the Star-brand within Disney plus (including parental control)

If they are not going to add it to Hulu, the logical option, then I think they do need to add it to D+. You have to do something with that content, and that content will add value to D+. Though I agree Hulu seems more logical here in the States

Doesn't Comcast own like 25% of Hulu until 2024? That might be the reason why Hulu hasn't been asorbed by Disney.

Too bad Peacock isn't going to succeed. They joined the party way too late and now with the 200+ other streaming services, it's just too many.

How many "must haves" are there? I have a handful and Peacock is not among them. And never will be.

I mean, in theory if they came up with a compelling enough show, that might help. . . but only so much. And it'd be *much* more likely to result in people subscribing for a month to watch "Star Trek: This Time An Actually Good New Show", then drop it again until a new season lands. That is better than nothing, but not the kind of revenue stream that they need to compete in the big leagues.

The are markets with indefinite room for expansion, but streaming media isn't one of them. A given customer only has so many hours of media-watching per month, and each new service needs to compete with "Just watching something on one of the services I am already subscribed to and thus involves no new marginal cost". Its basically the same deal as with MMOs, except not quite so brutal.

Comcast will keep it alive through cable subscribers.

It might be an outlier or a sign of things to come (ie merger with Hulu) but...

The Beatles Doc, Get Back has a significant number of F-words uncensored. And it's Disney+, not Hulu where the F word uncensored is common. Plus language not suitable for children.

There are some exceptions. Peter Jackson was adamant that they weren't censored at all and Disney didn't fight back. To me it really wouldn't have made much of a difference if they had muted the swearing in it since it was pretty few and far between over the course of an 8 hour documentary. It's not like it was a Tarantino film in that regard, although it's still hilarious to hear Paul McCartney shout "****face!" on Disney+.

F-bombs aren't anything new to the platform either. There are four X-Men films on Disney+ that have one f-bomb each. I have a feeling that in the near future there'll be more age-restricted content with the merger that'll result in films like Deadpool and Logan being available on the platform.

From what I remember with Hamilton, you are allowed one f-bomb to remain under Rated R.

True, but I believe Disney+ also censored an f-word from Adventures in Babysitting on the platform, which was the only one in that movie, so it's been a case by case type of thing.

Whoa, whoa, whoa Disney+. Edward Scissorhands isn't deserving of getting an actual clip in your previews? WTF???

Just merge them with the more popular one being the main service and the other as a hub. :o

I forgot that Edward Scissorhands is a Fox movie. I was also surprised to see Tron Legacy on there since I wasn't aware it had left the service at all.
