Disney+

I do not have Paramount+ because there's nothing on there that interest me.

I will get it for a month to binge Star Trek and Halo and then drop it again.

So, I saw people are rumoring that Disney is going to get the new Bleach episodes. Which is weird. I know Hulu does a bunch of anime deals, but not a big exclusive like that in a long time.

If they do, they better not censor them. Censoring anime for network or cable TV is one thing, for premium sub services, it's another.

If they truly want to make Disney+ the No. 1 streaming destination they are going to have to let go of the "family content" only crap.

Like all the Disney-owned properties should be available on the service eventually.

They should even be putting classic ABC shows owned by Disney on Disney+.

Yeah what was the point of adding age restrictions if you still censor your catalogue.

Yeah, the only type of censorship fans will accept on anime is the content that's already censored for the Japanese TV broadcasts. Sometimes anime gets re-released on home video in Japan or US with all the uncut material restored if it's a bit on the edgier or adult side. Not that Bleach is is super adult, but it does have violent subject matter and visuals, not to mention lots of implied nudity. Not actual nudity, but women who like to dress in skimpy or revealing outfits.

Yoruichi the Soul Reaper in the show when she transforms out of her cat form is always naked.

But yeah, no point in having age restrictions and TV-MA content if you're still going to censor content.

Probably waiting for Universal to sell their 3rd of Hulu.

not much about Disney+ Day besides Pinochio and that Cars series.
I expect Thor Love & Thunder, but how long they want to wait for this and other announcements? 2…days before?

Wouldn't Love & Thunder be on there before Disney+ Day? We're almost at the 45-day mark since it hit theaters.

yes ot will be longer then…but they did this with Shang Chi as well. Perfect release for such a prestigious date

Next Monday will be the 45 day mark for Thor L&T. We probably would have heard a date by now if it’s going to be dropped on D+ next week. I guess they will wait for Disney+ Day (or who knows, it could be longer. They never guaranteed that movies will be on Disney+ right after 45 days).

LOL, looks like everyone who re-upped their Netflix subscriptions for Stranger Things dropped off. I'm actually looking to cancel Netflix before the end of the year, just have to catch up on what's left of my watchlist first.

I do kind of wonder when one of the streaming services is going to try some form of countermeasure against this kind of thing. Only offering annual subscriptions, giving some kind of benefit based on active subscription length, that kind of thing. It would probably backfire, resulting in fewer people signing up in the first place, but I'm sure someone will walk onto that mine. Probably WB.

Only annual subs will IMO result in many people leaving and never coming back. The monthly signup and freedom to cancel is the flexibility that so many people want. But your second idea is good. There should be big rewards for people who stay subscribed for years and never cancel. Like permanent discounts below the current price and anything else they can think of. Annual subs should also be a lot cheaper than the monthly equivalent - you want people locked in and enjoying all the benefits and treating having the sub like a way of life.

they need something big for Disney+ day. Otherwise it’s just the day before D23. Pinochio isn’t enough. Last year they had Shang Chi, Jungle Cruise and Home alone (which sucked)

Hopefully on Disney+ Day, they announce shows/movies from the following genres: space (and not Star Wars, actual outer space), cooking, travel, nature, history and home construction/renovation. Disney+ is lacking in those categories, so I hope they announce shows/movies in those categories to show the diversity of their original shows. Although Netflix is struggling, they do a great job with those categories, especially cooking, travel, nature and home construction/renovation. It's something I think Disney+ has been lacking.

So Disney+ day was on the launch anniversary in November the past two years but this time around it's a lead-up to D23. Does this mean that for years where there is no D23 we should still expect D+ Day to be in November?

Other than dropping shows/movies that day, are they doing anything else for Disney+ Day? I think last year they made announcements via Twitter about new programs. Are they going to do the same thing on Sept 8th? Or is that basically D23 a day or two later?

I think any announcements are going to be reserved for D23.

Yep, I think so too. Disney plus Day will only be about the releases. Announcements will be Friday, Saturday and Sunday after
