^Ummm, Emperor's New Groove, exsqueeze me?
Groove is a good movie, but there are plenty of others that I put before it. Movies like Aladdin, Hercules and Little Mermaid. Groove's hilarious and has a lot of heart, but the music just isn't up to par with the aforementioned films.

In terms of music, I'd say "Beauty and the Beast", "The Little Mermaid", "Aladdin", "The Lion King", "Mulan" = "Tarzan", in that order.

"Beauty and the Beast" and "The Little Mermaid" have the highest points, while having the all around quality. "Aladdin" is a close third. I haven't watched Hunchback is a long time, but I remember being quite strong as well.

I'm sure they aren't going to kill Olaf. They'll find some way to keep him alive, the kids would all have conniptions if they spend the whole movie laughing at him and then have to watch him dissolve and 'die'. It would just be too horrible and there wouldn't be any way to soften the blow.

My guess is
either Elsa will find a way to magically keep him from melting, he'll go somewhere up north where it never gets warm, or he'll somehow turn into a human character.

Well, they did kill off Ray in Princess and the Frog. I know some brats were traumatized at that, especially since he was a goofy animal sidekick.

I have my moments. :funny:

:D

My guess is the latter.

I couldnt believe he really died. That was hardcore, for a modern disney film. lol

The Snowman is awesome. Do you hate Beauty and the Beast, The Little Mermaid, The Lion King, Aladdin? Because they all have such characters. Same with Tangled.

Comic relief is fine. This does not look fine to me. Also, what was a nice change of pace in TANGLED was that the horse and the lizard DID NOT speak. Yet they still managed to be fun characters. Just saying, this magical snow man rubs me the wrong way. It's possible to like something done in one film, yet dislike it in other films. Shocking I know. :word:

If I may, I don't mind Olaf..just not a big fan of his design.

True that they did kill off Ray, but I didn't feel that was really necessary for the story and I think they only did it to try and do something meaningful with the character. There was no reason for Ray to have to die, it had nothing to do with the ultimate resolution of the plot. He could have been beaten up but still survived and nothing would have changed.

And, the way it happened didn't make sense. We saw
Facilier step on him, and it was pretty obvious that he really stepped on him, with his whole foot and entire weight. I think you could even hear a sound effect of it. Yet not only is Ray NOT instantly crushed to death, but he gets a death scene where he's still alive and able to speak and doesn't even look injured. What the heck?? It would have made more sense if Facilier hurled him against a wall or something.

When Ray died it was bittersweet. Even though his death was sad he still got to "live on" in the sky with his love as a star. So his dream did end up coming true. But death has always been in Disney movies, so it isn't surprising. Nothing beats Mufasa's death, though.

That's a good list. Although, I'd put TLM in front of B&B.

Bambi's mother at least ties.

It has not been done in one film. It is a Disney film staple. Don't get me started on Timon and Pumbaa in the movie everyone love so much. :funny:

I haven't seen Bambi since I was a kid, so I don't remember the mother's death.

I don't think i ever finished Bambi

Uh, it was like the most memorable scene in the movie. If you've seen it (especially as a kid), it's hard to forget it.
Hard for you. For someone who's only watched Bambi once and over 10 years ago, it's not hard at all.

I saw a commercial for this on TV.

Just thought I'd share my cool story.

I don't think you are the intended demo.

Umm... I am guessing everyone posting here who is over the age to choose selective service is not the intended demo. Is that going to stop any of them from buying a ticket and sharing their thoughts on it here after?

Timon and Pumba speak. The objects in Beauty and The Beast speak. Fish and Crabs in Little Mermaid speak. The mice in Cinderella speak... The list, from classic Disney to modern age Disney can go on. Just saying, it was nice in TANGLED that the cute animal sidekicks were silent characters, without celebrity guest voices or annoying "cool" catchphrases.

A new trailer, with their new tagline.
"Experience the greatest Disney animated event since the Lion King."

FINALLY!! This is the 1st trailer to really get me excited for the film.

Maybe it's because Elsa's the character I'm most interested in, and I've been waiting for a long time to actually see her character do something beyond the little glimpses they've shown previously. So.......YES!! And we get to hear her speak!!

Oh, and I'm guessing the new musical number is Anna's song?

Kind of wish they played Let It Go in the trailer...........

I wonder if this new trailer will debut with Thor in a few weeks.

seems logical...........

And that was one of the things I really appreciated in Tangled.

I'm a little worried about Olaf, because that kind of character can either be cute and funny or he can get annoying really fast.

There are also cute little trolls ( that talk ), which we got a glimpse of in the new trailer.

Oh, and as for Olaf, I'm 99% certain of his fate, based on spoilers and snippets I've read on the net. I also know the true villain in the story.

I'll just leave it at that, unless any of you want spoilers. And based on scenes they showed in the new trailer, it looks like it matches up pretty accurately to the spoilers I read.
